This amazing townhouse remodel brings the true spirit of Bavaria to downtown Helen, Georgia! It is gracefully embellished in a rustic Bavarian farmhouse finish.

The chalet features an open kitchen with granite counter tops and full-size appliances. It has a large cast iron sink and offers bar stool seating for quick snacks. There are two spacious pantries, one for food items and the other with prepping/cooking tools and food storage containers. Cabinets are full of dishes, bakeware, and stovetop cookware. The authentic farmhouse dining table sits just off the kitchen in a glass filled room. It’s high above the ground and privately surrounded by hardwood trees. Watching squirrels and birds and perhaps even a bear meandering at ground level can be enjoyed from this area. (Windows purposely do not open in this room.)

The living room is most welcoming with comfortable seating including a perfect reading chair, Smart TV for streaming favorite apps, and an electric fireplace for creating mountain coziness.

The main level bedroom has a king bed and is colored in Appalachian blues. A full-size bath (shower only) on the main level is accessible from the master bedroom and commons area. A linen closet houses bath accessories, river towels, and a small vacuum.

The upper level bedroom has a queen size bed and is vividly decorated in remembrance of native Americans who once occupied the land. There’s a full-size bath (shower only) on this level also accessed from the bedroom and commons area. Bath accessories are provided in the linen closet along with a small vacuum.

The loft area is furnished in memory of Herman, a local black bear who once used Alpenrosen Strasse to stroll back and forth across the mountain. Other canvases of local waterfalls show glimpses of hiking areas near Helen. The loft provides access to a private upper deck, perfect for enjoying coffee, reading, conversation, and using a tablet/laptop, etc. It has two large rockers with a side table and two chairs with a side table. Queen-size bed. Guests will feel like they’re in a treehouse!

The chalet also offers a full size washer and dryer.

The wrap around decking makes it convenient to go from front to back areas. A gas grill is housed in the back with outdoor seating.

Parking for 2 vehicles only. Please do not park vehicles in privately owned cul-de-sac.

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT IS 25 YEARS OR OLDER TO RESERVE THIS PROPERTY.

Super cute condo located in nature. It was clean and the room set up was great. Loved all the outdoor seating! We went for Oktoberfest and were hoping to walk to the downtown area. The distance wasn't bad, but the road was very windy, very steep and very dark at night. Overall, a good experience.

The Black Bear Chalet was a cool little place in Helen to stay. Very well decorated and put together inside, clean, and comfortable. The view off the back of the house was perfect. Woods and trees. The kitchen was furnished with EVERYTHING you need and some generous donations left over in the pantry (Spices, coffee, tee, etc.) I would certainly book here again!

Super Clean and Comfy! Great Location!

Wonderful stay, thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. Property was just as described, clean, very comfortable and a good location. No complaints what so ever but maybe some helpful info that may benefit your future guests. We were a party of 4 adults and had to take turns waiting on a cup of coffee each morning. Coffee maker brewed very slow and didn't seem to work properly. I would suggest a 10-12 cup coffee maker for your larger group stays. There was no cork screw but no big deal we had our own. Drain in downstairs bathroom drained slow and a light bulb in the up stairs bathroom was almost burnt out. Again not complaining just bringing a few things to your attention that you might not otherwise be aware of! We will definitely be back and recommend your beautiful home!!!!

Great Cabin!

Everything looked brand new. It was very clean and quiet. We walked to town once, but the hill was a little steep. It was a short ride, though. It was a little confusing dealing with the management company, but everything got figured out eventually.

The property is fabulous! Its among the woods so I'm guessing we may have been the first visitors of the year, I swept the porch & cleaned cob webs outside. for a secluded trip this place is ideal. Its not a walk to anything place because of the steep grade incline & decent. I could also see a problem during the winter cold if the road were to ice over, but a spring, summer or fall you will find this place provides all you need. We are going to plan a trip back, we spent a week in Helen for our honeymoon & love this little town.

My partner, a couple friends and I stayed here for AVF and this was the perfect location with just the right amount of space for us. Beautiful mornings, comfortable beds and patios were perfect to enjoy the night time vibes, with the front being in perfect view to see the stars.

Weekend Getaway

We were beyond impressed with this property! It far exceeded our expectations. The location was super convenient and the space was so cozy and every corner there was a little word of encouragement. The dwcor was beautiful. The set up was wonderful while traveling with a teeneager and a toddler. We took cards and WILL be returning for future stays without doubt! Would recommend 10 out of 10!

Perfect getaway!

The home was so beautiful. We loved the floor plan and the home decor. It was so cozy and relaxing. The view was terrific, too. It was close enough to walk downtown, but we opted to drive. We had the best weekend away and will definitely book again for this rental.
