On a motorcycle tour of Scandinavia we stayed in around 15 different hotels - this was a real favourite. It was slightly out of season, so fairly quiet even though it looks like it could handle a lot of guests comfortably (I imagine it's sometimes used for weddings). Our room was superb - very recently refurbished (still had that slight "new carpet" smell) and was finished to a very high standard. Very spacious, with a large bathroom and even a little entrance lobby. Each room has it's own door out on to a square courtyard which makes for a really nice environment - no long gloomy corridors here! The dinner is buffet style, but it's good quality, as was the breakfast. If you have time, there's a river down some steps at the back of the main building (beyond the sauna). There are several little streams and bridges so it's a lovely place to explore. Staff were all really friendly and efficient, and we had a lovely time.

Traditional Swedish style hotel.

Comfortable, warm hotel. Service was limited as January and February quiet months. Restaurant closed at 3pm. Staff only available til 6pm. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Sandwiches were left in our room fridge as I mentioned to receptionist that we would be hungry upon arrival at the hotel in the early evening.

Hotellet är väldigt gemytligt med fina rum och trevliga gemensamhetsutrymmen. Frukosten är också mycket bra. Det som drar ner helhetsintrycket är middagen: långt ifrån prisvärd och att vänta mer än en timme på maten i en inte helt full restaurang är inte ok. Speciellt inte med barn i 10-12-årsåldern. Att det pågår en bröllopsmiddag är inte skäl att vara underbemannad. Var på besök för ett år sedan och inte heller då var middagen värd pengarna. Att det saknas konkurrens i närområdet är inte skäl att slarva, speciellt inte som allt annat är jättebra. Vi kommer troligen tillbaka, men då äter vi inte middag där.

Övernattningen slog alla förväntningar! Nyrenoverade, välplanerade och mysiga rum, som smälte så väl in i miljön av äldre, lantligt gästgiveri. Även omgivning och allmänna utrymmen med restaurang och bar så fräscht och inbjudande. Vi är mycket nöjda och kommer gärna tillbaka. Stor eloge till personal i både kök, restaurang och övriga.

Dejligt ophold på Margretetorp Gästgifvarigård

Første gang på Margretetorps Gästgifvarigård og bestemt ikke sidste. Et vældigt hyggeligt sted, hvor service er nærværende og i top - både i reception og restaurant. Såvel inde, som udeområder er vældigt fint vedligeholdte, og stedet fremstår generelt i rigtig god stand. Vi valgte at spise aftensmad i restauranten, der var vel besøgt (reservation anbefales også for overnattende gæster). Fine råvarer og glimrende tilberedt - efter en forret og hovedret var vi mere end mætte. Morgenmadsbuffeten er en af de bedre vi har oplevet på et 4 **** hotel, men det er også her vi oplever de eneste to ting ifm vores ophold, der efter vores mening kunne forbedres lidt Røræggen der serveres var nærmest blot en æggegrød, og formentlig ikke lavet fra bunden af hele æg, og bollerne der kan vælges var noget bløde i skorpen og virkede lidt som at de var optøede og ikke blevet varmet nok i ovnen. Ovenstående ændrer dig overordnet ikke ved, at det er et meget fint morgenmadsbord, som de serverede på et rigtigt dejligt overnatningssted.
