I will start by saying that the condo was very nice. It was clean (but had a very strong musty odor) and was beautifully decorated. I loved the layout of the place. The location was fantastic as well.My complaints center around the host.* Upon arrival at the shipyard community gate, there was no guest pass waiting for us at either of the gates. We were issued a 24 hour pass and had to call the host to tell him that we needed our pass for the week. It was an inconvenience to have to drive around finding the correct gate once he did call it in.* The check-in information he sent me contained the wrong WiFi password and the wrong pool code. Both times I had to message him to tell him they didn’t work.* The door of the front-loading washer would not lock. I called the host and told him about the error code, and he was not at all helpful. He mumbled something about it needing a part. Well duh! I was not happy because I pack lightly when I know there is a washer and dryer available. He told me to keep hitting start, and it would eventually begin working. That was not the case. So we did not have use of the washer all week. The man didn’t seem to care. This is the first time I have written a negative review about a VRBO host. This fellow needs to improve his communication skills and at least try to ACT as though he cares about his guests. Even a sincere-sounding “I’m sorry” would have gone a long way for the time we had to waste seeking help for the problems we encountered.

Great layout and perfect neighborhood for walking the dogs and accessing to the beach. Really appreciated having toiletries and coffee provided. Comfy beds! The people above us were like a herd of elephants and we finally had to ask them to keep it down, which they did.

I loved the location in Shipyard Plantation. We had an easy pickup of our parking pass at the gate. We had a great stay and were able to contact the host for the passcode for the pool. And the host was prompt in responding. Hoping to come again soon.

Location! Location! Location!

Great proximity to private beach! Evian at Shipyard is the perfect place to enjoy the island. Very clean, gated community, perfect back patio with one of the best private beaches on HHI! Excellent communication with property manager.

Disappointing

The property smelled like musty cigarettes. There were not enough bath towels, hand towels or wash cloths for a family of four. Towels that you step onto when done showering were hung up as hand towels. Floors were dirty and it was apparent that items were not moved to do a thorough cleaning (when master bath garbage can was moved there was a visible dirt ring where it had been). Sheets were full of hair and had to be washed before sleeping on. Master bedroom sheets were put on inside out. Poor lighting in bedrooms and master closet.Lastly there was not enough drinking glasses. However it has great proximity to the pool and tennis courts. Short bike ride or drive to the beach.

Great Place to Stay

The condo was very clean and comfortable. The area was quiet and private. The beach is a bit of a drive but the pool area is within walking distance. Our daschund puppy loved her visit too. We usually come for a few months and were disappointed others have discovered this. Best VRBO we gave stayed in in Hilton Head in the 36 years we’ve been coming.

Beautiful condo

The condo was a great location and beautiful! A great floor plan with a beautiful kitchen. The master bedroom and bathroom were fantastic. The furniture was great along with the decor. The number one reason we stayed there is because it was pet friendly so we were able to bring out dogs! We were not given the code to the tennis courts which took a day or so to receive so that was a bummer that we couldn’t use those right away. We also had to wait for a parking pass at the gate for about 20 minutes when we arrived which was a pain. Hopefully next time, that will all be taken care of. Otherwise, I highly recommend!
