Arrived to a clean, organized room with one king bed (two twins pushed together), small but useful kitchen, and nice updated bathroom. Open air patio/porch at the entrance was nice, albeit a bit buggy at night. 2 beach chairs, an umbrella and some other useful items for the beach or heading into town. Landscaped beautifully, local staff (housekeeping/landscapers) friendly and inviting. There is a large shared yard with clotheslines. 30 second walk puts you right onto the beach, but not before passing through Kirt’s Beach Bar. I highly recommend spending some time here. If you’re looking for some of the old school, do-it-yourself Caribbean vibes, then this refreshing escape is exactly what you need.The Studio’s proximity to beach, bar, dining, and shopping, its affordability makes it an extremely attractive option. Thats the good. The not so good:Construction. A resort is being built around the Art Studio’s grounds. With the right positive thinking you can just imagine it’s just containing your own private oasis! Things will get better, but construction noise started at 6am and sometimes continued until about 7pm. Not a problem for us, we were there with a baby so he had us up at 6am anyway. All in all, we had a fantastic time at Art Studios. We had family staying in another unit, and are already planning to come back with more family and friends renting other units together. We look forward to our potential return to the studios and Barbados!

We are repeat visitors to this studio which is located next to one of the best beaches in Barbados. Julia the host once again provided comprehensive joining instructions, and the studio is stocked with everything you need. Arrangements can be made to supply shopping too. Julia is very responsive to any messages we sent. Although close to a large hotel which is being constructed, in our opinion, this does not detract from the quality of the accommodation with first rate site support from Stacy who took care of the studio. We will return to this beautiful part of the world.

We loved our stay at Art Studio2! The large outdoor deck was great, AC was ice cold when needed and the property staff were sooo nice! The construction next door was outside of anyone’s control and will be done by summer ‘26. By no means did it affect our wonderful stay. The beach down the path is AMAZING! Easy to walk to shops, bars and a big Massy store 10 minutes away. The gardens were beautiful too!

a gem of a place

I was at a conference in nearby Bellairs Institute, and colleagues were jealous of my find! A nice patio, AC, very close to the beach, to the shops and many food options. Despite the construction of a new hotel next door, the place was relaxing and very enjoyable with hummingbirds visiting during my morning coffee. Next conference, I wil stay there again. Thanks Julia for being so responsive.

Perfect Location

The property is lovely and well maintained. The AC is strong and the bed comfortable. But what is truly impressive is the proximity to both the beach (perhaps a 1 minute walk) and all of the Holetown restaurants and shopping areas. Everything is easily walkable. The people complaining about the apartment being run down are being too picky in my opinion.

Super convenient and welcoming

Art Studios is one of those places people return to again and again. (We met some of them!) You're maybe a 3 minute walk through the small complex to the beach, which is nice and sandy for swimming and extends in both directions, great for walking. Lots of shops and restaurants within 10 minutes in both directions. The studio was clean and comfortable and exactly as described. Plenty of room to store our stuff, table and chairs both inside and out for dining, and even a sun lounger on the terrace for relaxing. Great shower, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off. Plus everything you need. Relaxing Caribbean decor. Julia cheerfully answered our questions, gave great dining recommendations, and helped arrange a taxi to the airport when we left. Many other guests were repeat visitors and were welcoming. A nice neighborhood vibe. There is construction going on next door. The noise didn't bother us. (It was kind of fascinating watching the cranes.) We would love to come back!

We highly recommend this studio for many reasons: - Julia the host made contact almost immediately after booking and continued to provide all the information required to ensure we were familiar with the accommodation before arrival. - The location is perfect for the wonderful being only 35 metres from the beach, close to local shops & restaurants. - The studio has everything you need for catering and trips to the beach including seats, snorkels, towels etc. - Meschell, Trudy & Michael provide excellent onsite services. - The long term residents made us feel so welcome and provided lots of local information. Wonderful holiday

This is the second time we have stayed in Art Studio 2 and we loved our time there once again . For a start our hostess Julia couldn’t have been more helpful and kind . We had a few extra needs this time which she went out of her way to help with. The studio is artistically decorated with a very well equipped kitchen comfortable bed a great shower. There is a ceiling fan and air conditioning. The studio is set in beautiful gardens and those working and living in the complex are friendly and helpful.The short access to a sandy beach facing West for beautiful sunset views also has safe warm swimming. There are plenty of restaurants of all types and prices nearby and a supermarket with everything you would need for self catering. There is a local bus service and although we didn’t rent a car that is an option with many sights experiences and gardens to to enjoy. We understand some building work is starting on a new hotel next door which is an immediate concern but we will hope to return again to this lovely place.

Great central location with beach in your backyard and restaurants and grocery store within 5 min walk. As usual Julia was a fabulous host and her apartment has everything you can possibly need. A beach paradise

We really enjoyed our stay at Julia’s studio. It’s proximity to the beach and stores was amazing! The place is very well equipped with everything you need in the way of necessities to cook. She provided beach chairs and umbrella which was really a plus! The snorkelling was great right off the shore!

Excellent location for first trip to Barbados

Holetown is a vibrant west coast district, with many services ranging from enjoyable roadside cafes to high end restaurants (such as the Tides), shops and a garage with a ‘no charge’ cash machine. Art Studios is tucked just off the main road on a public access route to the Beach – which is really is very close. Apartment 2 is ground floor of a 4-unit block (a total of eight apartments) with a South facing private patio with well-kept communal seating areas. It has plenty of space for two, with a well- equipped kitchen and walk in shower. Generous hanging space and shelves for clothes. Wonderfully quiet and reliable air conditioning unit. Wi- Fi was solid. Walking along the beach, in the Bridgetown direction, you pass a number of bars and restaurants facing the sea with the first mile. 2beds and an umbrella are available at 40-45BBD per day. In the other direction, Folkestone Marine Park is a lovely area with shady trees, benches and 2 beach cafes. Spectacular sunset views from these west coast beaches. The buses on the main road (an experience!) have stops nearby. The Taxi (Amigo) recommended by the owner was very reliable. He met us from our very delayed flight with no problem and is a very safe driver. We booked him for 2 other trips and a 6hr tour. Amigo is very knowledgeable and good company; highly recommended. The vibrancy of the area can result in music being played into the night, with cockerels and traffic in the early morning.

Perfect location in Barbados

The unit is perfectly located within walking distance to all of Holetown’s shops & restaurants and on the main bus route for getting around the island. Walking out the back gate of the complex, we were immediately on a beautiful, west sandy beach with great swimming, snorkeling & access to other ocean pursuits, if desired. The studio apartment was clean & well appointed. We appreciated the small things that mean a lot if you like to cook: ample pots and pans, cutlery, utensils, china and secure containers for dry goods. Once we ascertained that a firm-bed loving guest had turned over the mattresses, we were very comfortable on the pillowtops. The king bed was formed by 2 twins put together and it worked well. The unit is cooled by an air conditioner, though we mainly just opened the windows for the gentle breeze to flow through. In addition to the dining table inside, there’s a table and 2 lounges on the shaded patio for outdoor dining. I originally though that the daily cleaning offered with the unit might be too much. The cleaner was very flexible, though, and left us alone when we wanted. Cleaning every 3 days or so worked out great. The only drawback to the unit may be the nature of the complex. The louvered windows can transfer noises in the still of night. It has a very communal feel & if you are looking for a secluded getaway, this isn’t it. That said, we met several lovely guests who helped us become accustomed to the place & suggestions for places to go & to eat.

Perfect little apartment for 2 with great snorkelling beach practically in your backyard! Close to restaurants, bars and right up the street from the Rock Net Grill a great little local restaurant/bar with the best fresh fish! Julia is an awesome host/hostess! We will definitely be back!
