Checking-in was a bit questionable. I asked for a room that was not facing the wall of another adjacent building and was charged an extra fee for another room. I have been staying at this hotel off and on since 1988. I also didn't like the resort fee!!!

On site restaurants and stores are very nice. Staff are nice and efficient. Rooms are being renovated but the renovation doesn’t quite go far enough. Valet parking is easy and about as cheap as it comes around there.

Overall very good and it's located next to Ala Moana shopping center. Parking was easy. Nice pool and very good fitness center. We were in the Waikiki Tower with a good partial ocean view.

The waitress services of the Breakfast dining area was terrible. The host was doing great. However the server had never filled water nor took empty dishes. Cold and angry attitude throughout the Breakfast. My husband didn't want to give any tip, but we paid properly. We went there to be happy, never want to deal with ugly terrible cheap Breakfast. We don't want it at all. We could've gone somewhere else. During check- in process, I confirmed through phone calls twice, the early checkin without any extra charge. But, When I got there, the staff completely ignored and was going to charge $59.00 even I explained him about that. Later he canceled but it was a very unpleasant experience. This is not what I expected to get treated after flying almost over a day from East coast for exciting vacation ahead!! Alamoa hotel, I sincerely hope that you can do better than that. Kwang

My recent stay at Ala Moana Hotel in Hawaii was extremely disappointing. The noise level was unbearable; doors were constantly slamming and loud footsteps echoed through the walkways. To make things worse, there was a strange mechanical noise that ran consistently throughout the night. Early in the morning around 7am, the room above started repair work, creating nonstop knocking and hammering for over 2 hours. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing stay. For the price and reputation of this hotel, I expected much better soundproofing and management awareness of guest comfort.
