Really tough to review this property because of so many inconsistencies. Front Desk: 8/10 nice people but not enough staff Check-in: 2/10 only one lady. I had to wait in line 30 minutes then 15 to process my room Room Furnishings: 8/10 nice Balcony: 9/10 huge WiFi: 9/10 specific connection modem for each room Room AC: 6/10 weak as expected from old property Room Bed: 8/10 for ultra firm mattress Room Linen: 8/10 Building/Hallways/Elevator: 5/10 not luxury resort appearance. In many places it needs paint, wallpaper repair. Looking closely it is run down a bit. If you want the feel of fresh luxury, this is not the place. But it’s otherwise ok. Ice: 5/10 as you have to go to the front desk Beach Towels: again everything via front desk Check-out: 8/10 late noon check-out is great but no drop off for beach cards as you must again deal with front desk. Restaurants: 8/10 all are very good Nice old property that is good but not amazing. Too much dependence on the front desk. Properly a 3/5 star property.

We stayed as a family with children 3 & 12. Enjoyed every day, room service was great, the room with a kitchen is very convenient due to the large fridge. We had room with view on the city - still great - 23rd floor. At night, not too loud. AC was working great, 5 elevators are sufficient for the property. Area around is very attractive with lots of options for swimming, dining, shopping and walking. Complementary ice cream and parties on Fridays are joy for kids

I found this hotel to be great in its location, amenities, and price point. It's not a luxury resort but I didn't want to pay that much, haha. Our Ilikai room had a kitchenette and a sofa so it was great for a small family for several days' stay. The hotel has two pool options, and has a convenience store, ice cream shop & dining options. Its location is safe and attractive, and within easy walking distance to the lagoon and beach. While there were a couple of little things that could have been improved on, they were nothing alarming (e.g. there were a couple knicks in the paint in our room; wish we had gotten more sugar for coffee). I would definitely stay here again. Oh and awesome surprise, the hotel upgraded us to an ocean view room (I had reserved a city view room). It made our Hawaii vacation all the more memorable! Thanks Ilikai!

Ilikai is an excellent hotel with a great location. It’s in a quiet area, perfect for relaxing, but still close to everything. The beach nearby is suitable for all types of travelers — whether you’re looking to swim, sunbathe, or just enjoy the view. Highly recommended!
