Decent city centre hotel, next door to a great pub.
The room was clean, tidy and spacious. The only slight downside was the bathroom had a radiator directly infront of the toilet which made it tight for space.
Good location, ideal for a short stay. Room wasn’t clean on arrival but staff were accommodating to change rooms. Parking was limited and was based on a first come basis.
We were staying in a Superior accessible room, but it wasn't. The space to walk around the bed was too small. Only very thin people who can shuffle sideways and breathe in would be able to walk between the bed and the large tv ; minibar was on the floor so out of reach ;only one rail in the toilet and this was no use for those who do not have a functioning left arm. There was NO MIRROR In the bathroom so don't choose this hotel if you like to have a wet shave, apply make up, or do anything else.
There was only one shallow glass shelf in the bathroom and this was hanging off the wall dangerously- so nowhere to put toiletries etc.The tap on the miniscule sink was also in need of repair. You could not fill the kettle from this tap as it was impossible to get the kettle into the space between the tap and the sink- probably this is why it was loose as guests tried to get some water. The bedroom lamp was broken. I was asked to leave a £50 deposit on arrival in case I smoked or stole items from the mini bar( nb: no alcohol just chocolate bars and fizzy cans) I was told it would take 4-5 working days for the money to be refunded...I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal on arrival. We asked for the room to be serviced on our 2nd day. We returned to find that there were some additional tea bags but the bed was unmade and the bathroon not cleaned. There were insufficient towels for two guests in the room. The staff were brilliant and so was breakfast. The location is excellent.
There is no ramp or assistance to enter or exit the building, rooms. There are several fire doors and stairs to get to the room. I called the front desk in the morning to receive assistance with my bags, no one answered. I waited a few minutes, called again and still no answer. I made my way down through all the doors and stairs to the lift into the lobby. The woman at the front desk had her head down on her arms sleeping. She did not acknowledge me. I made my way outside, again none of the doors have handicap accessibility and left. I will not be back.
When I entered my room I was pleasantly surprised to find a welcome letter on the bed. I found this to be very thoughtful and was much appreciated.
The room was kept to a high standard and the standard of the staff was even higher.
We went to a concert in the town hall. The hotel is just across the road so couldn't be more convenient. Breakfast was very good. There are only 6 parking spaces which are quite tight but alternatively there is a big carpark next door. We will definitely return.

This is a good hotel, well worth the cost (which was reasonable). The room was good on the whole, but there were a few places where maintenance needed to be done (paint, grout on shower). But the amenities were nice, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were accommodating and helpful in the extreme.
Nice location not many spaces for cars rooms need a refurb beds very uncomfortable they are rock hard the pillows are too curtains don’t cover the window so at 4:30 when it’s day light it’s bright in the room wasn’t with £160 for a night

Close to train station and city centre. Safe and clean.
A great facility and friendly staff. When the Queensgate reconstruction is done it will be a truly prime spot but it’s still convenient to central Huddersfield now.
The Stay hotel says it has a restaurant but it does not. The staff was not very helpful in choosing a restaurant. We will not stay at this hotel again.

Stay was fine. Friendly staff and easy check in. Room was basic, clean but unimpressive. Small window so pretty dark. Very average bed and bathroom.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room lock was faulty and didn’t work with the issued keycard but I was given a key instead which was fine. The hotel decor is a modern deco style but has got a bit shabby in places; my room had chipped paint around the built in wardrobe, shower cubicle seal was damaged. Overall it was fine for a night.
Overall was better than expected although the window of n my room was small, high up & made the room cell like. The toiletries were good quality, the room looked nice & breakfast was nice reasonable although they had no vegetarian sausages. Although the rooms decor was good overall there were 2 things that let it down, firstly there was nowhere to hang anything as the wardrobe had no hangers and there was no hook behind the door for a coat, secondly & more importantly the bed was terrible resulting in an awful nights sleep.
