Big smile all the time....

Need somewhere to stay for a trade show in Nuremberg. Didn't want to pay trade show prices and as I was flying into Munich I had the opportunity to say somewhere else. Randomly picked here and glad I did. Wasn't busy, but a nice quiet little gasthof. Door was locked when I got there, but that often happens in Germany. Just how things are done. My favourite bit was the guy running the place, guess he was owner or part of the family that owned it, just a huge smile on his face all the time. You couldn't help but smile back. He also couldn't do enough for you and would almost run to the table if he saw you needed service. Styling was very modern German, so not the warmest of feel, but the whole place was spotlessly clean. Big rooms and bathroom so very comfortable for whose of us that had to spend a lot of time in there rooms working. Situated in a valley, so nice views from the front of the hotel. Very convenient parking. Only thing I would complain about is there was nothing in the rooms to eat and drink. A bottle of water would have been nice. I would stay there again.

Outstanding Service!!!

The hotel is nice and clean. The only negative is the lack of soap in the shower. That can be easily overlooked by the great service from the owners. The family environment is unlike I have seen in other hotels, and the owners shared their time like we were family.

quaint Bavarian hotel

if you are tall like someone else already mentioned you could find yourself hitting the shower and room roof! wouldn't take much more than 175cm and the roof slopes to the edge to a shorter height!. had a view of neuschwanstein from our room which was lucky. WiFi on the slower side. free parking free breakfast was handy. good stop to go check out the neighbourhood.

On the road to Ingolstadt

Wanted a quiet place to stay before touring the Audi works in Ingolstadt. We were given a room in the older of the two buildings on the third floor. Elevator did not work, unable to open door to our balcony, one of the two beds was under the sloped roof (watch your head). Hotel appears under renovation; new section appears quite nice, but our old gasthof has seen better days,

Overnight stay

Stayed here for one night on my way to Munich. We arrived very late (2am) and the hotel staff was so kind to open up their doors to us. What kind people work here. The room itself was very cozy and comfortable. The room had a balcony (open to the other rooms) and the bathroom was a bit small but has everything u needed. Our favorite part of the stay was breakfast, where this family run hotel served us a nice German meal with the most delicious marmalade we ever had!

Review of Hotel Heckl

The rooms were in a different building to the Reception and Dining Room - along the main road. luckily it was dry when we visited otherwise the journey to breakfast would nothave been pleasant. The shower was not very hot. The accommodation building had a strange atmosphere.Fine as overnight accommodation.

A great stay on the way back to Munich

We were flying out of Munich the next day, so we didn't want to be far away, but also did not want to go all the way back into the city - this location was perfect. The hotel was comfortable and the service was very very much appriciated. If you are passing through - we definately reccomend Hotel Gasthof Heckl!

A very nice family owned hotel, perfectly located

We have been staying at this nice family owned hotel for many years and we always love to come back. You drive off the autobahn and 200 meters later you are in a lovely Bavarian village where the hotel is situated. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, in the restaurant you can enjoy Bavarian food and beer. In the morning you will have nice buffe breakfast Higly recommended.
