Great staff very helpful. They upgraded our room upon arrival which I don’t believe ever requesting. There were nice perks included like tooth brush toothpaste, and several other bathroom supplies. Several drinks were included, and chocolate was included. Beds were clean and comfy, room was clean. Staff was great in helping make accommodations for taxi ride to the train station. Breakfast was mediocre, but there are great restaurants just a short walk away.

Beautiful hotel

This hotel was just a couple of blocks walking distance from the train station, which is one of the reasons I chose it. It was super easy to do our daily excursions with being so close to the train station. We stayed in a family suite.It was quite spacious and had every amenity we needed. I loved how the rooms had all of the toiletries included.So we didn't have to call down to the front desk.If we forgot anything. Our room was overlooking the mountain and the river next to the hotel which was great although the double doors to the balcony were through the bathroom, which was a little odd. The breakfast each day had many wonderful items to choose from including asian food which we love. I also loved the selection of teas that were available. There is a fabulous italian restaurant in town called Sapori, you will not be disappointed if you eat there! They have awesome Woodfired pizzas, as well as great pastas.

Our stay at the Grand Beau Rivage was incredible. The staff was wonderful, breakfast was excellent, and the location cannot be beat. Walking distance to the train station allowed us to easily explore the Jungfrau region with young children. Walking to the Harder Kulm funicular was a treat as well and overlooking the Aare River was breathtaking. Only "con" was the lack of air conditioning as we were there during a heat wave, but I'd gladly do it again for the opportunity to stay there. Open windows and fans made it manageable, but the experience overall was fantastic. Thank you to the staff!

Nice location, and beautiful building, but needs updating and feels very dated. Also, watch out if you are staying during a heat wave as they dont have air conditioning. They tried to compensate by putting fans in the room, but if yoh are used to a cool room this hotel wont work for you.

Poor quality rooms

The big let down of this hotel is the quality of the rooms, which are not to a 5 star or even 4 star standard. Our room was large but did not have a single picture on the walls, the furniture was damaged and was of low quality. The bathroom did not seem to have been updated since the 1980s. The room did not have air conditioning (we were told that none of the rooms did) and the highs during our stay were in the 30s (C) so it was very difficult to sleep. The power sockets were also old and did not accept commonly used adapters. The staff were helpful but clearly embarrassed by the condition of the rooms and the room facilities. It is a shame as the common parts of the hotel are grand and the location is very good.
