There was a miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel. Our reservation which was already paid for, was not in the hotel’s system but the lovely front desk manager took care of us, even though they were fully booked. Bad on Expedia but Hotel Columba pulled through for us.
Awesome location, right in front of the river Ness, beautiful views of a castle, close to everywhere and yet quiet. We loved our stay there. The from is basic but comfortable and has everything we needed. We walked to the tour bus pickup easily from this hotel, explored Inverness and walked to the train to our next destination. Perfect location!
Convenient for walking to attractions and town centre. Staff helpful and peaceful location by river.
Hotel decor tired and in need of some maintenance investment...damaged and flaking paintwork, tiny bathroom with broken shower /bath fitting/ shower gel holder and toilet seat. Maybe trivial but symptomatic of poor attention to maintenance.
Breakfast...food choice plentiful and good quality BUT...lukewarm at best and plates cold!
Overall not deserving of 3 stars and overpriced (unfortunately like all Inverness hotels in tourist season).

Old-school old, but great staff
The staff were fantastic. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. I heard her patiently instructing another guest how to turn on the heat. The restaurant staff did everything to accommodate my gluten allergy. The hotel itself is in dire need of renovation. The floor boards are covered with thin, worn carpet, but you still can feel where they are uneven and spaced. The hot and cold faucets are old-school separate, and the toilet doesn’t flush well. The hair dryer was perfect for curly hair because it was more heat than aggressive air- I liked that. The bed was firm, which I like, but so were the pillows (2 in a single bed), which I don’t like. I also had no hangers in the closet, but I feel confident that if I had requested them, I would have gotten them.
Was my favorite hotel of my whole trip of almost 2 weeks. Loved the location. Room was nice and big and comfortable and love the old bathroom was very nice. Hotel people were extremely nice. Enjoyed very much. Would recommend highly
Very comfortable and the staff was friendly, professional and helpful.

The location of the property and the staff there were really good. The room we got, however, had no ventilation. It got hot. The staff did help with a portable fan but unfortunately, that wasn’t enough. Room was a bit of disappointment but the staff did everything they could to make us feel comfortable.
Good clean hotel. Breakfast good. Great location. Only negative was that the bar closed early for residents.

The hotel is well located in the centre of Inverness.
However, it is tired and needs a quite a bit of TLC.
It was not value for money given the above.

Good position but tired
Great situation beside River Ness and facing castle..
Overall a bit tired and needing the refurb' which we were told was scheduled, when we last stayed.
Lack of staff for restaurant at breakfast with empty trays not being replenished and no-one to ask.
.
One member of staff, who had been checking customers into restaurant, refilling bread to make toast seen to bring out half of a loaf and with 'bare hands' add to bread receptical (gloves or at very least tongs MUST be used).
Rooms are comfortable enough.
Great location within walking distance to everything within Inverness. Great views of River Ness and the Castle. Room was cute and spacious but the bed was not comfy at all. Not sure if this was just our room but anytime would flush the toilet or take a shower the plumbing would sound like a barge was coming through - this would go on for the entire shower. It is an older hotel so assumed is just old plumbing but that was super annoying. Additionally someone's dog must of pooped on the entry floor and it was tracked all through and up the steps and they didn't clean it up until the next morning and it smelled awful. No parking but car park within few minutes walk and only 5 pounds a day.
When checking in we were greeted by a person who obviously didn’t want to be there. We received no information regarding dining or breakfast. The shower curtain was mouldy and there was mould on the grouting in the shower. At 5am approx an exhaust fan started outside our window which was extremely noisy. The bed was also very hard and uncomfortable. The hotel is in a good position which is probably the best thing.
Rooms were not cleaned properly. The room had a musty odor, smelled like a wet dog. Carpet is very worn. Walls are dirty. Inconvenient access to rooms, have to pass thru multiple heavy doors that do not prop open making it difficult to pass with luggage. Too many small flights of stairs in between rooms. Beds were uncomfortable. What was supposed to be a queen bed was just 2 twins pushed together. Found mold in the bathroom. Overpriced! Would not recommend!
