Drumgarry sijaitsee yksityisessä, eristäytyneessä metsässä. Talo komentaa henkeäsalpaavia näkymiä merelle päin Knoydartin kukkuloille ja vuorille. Upea sijainti täydentää taloa ympäröiviä kauniita, luonnollisia puutarhoja.

Talo on tilava, nukkuu jopa 6 henkeä. Master, superking makuuhuone, kerrossänky huone ja kolmas makuuhuone, joka voidaan käyttää joustavasti joko 2 singleä tai ylimääräisenä superking. Valtava keittiö / ruokailuhuone on hyvin varusteltu ja näköala puutarhaan päin. Olohuoneessa on todellinen tulipalo, ja siinä on suuret ranskalaiset ikkunat, jotka avautuvat suurelle kannelle ja oleskelualueelle. Talossa on myös 2 kylpyhuonetta, joista toisessa suihku, toisessa kylpyamme ja suihku.

Drumgarry sijaitsee Ardvasarin pienessä kylässä saaren eteläosassa. Hotellissa on pubi ja ravintola, joka sijaitsee talon aseman juurella vain 1 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä ja tarjoaa erinomaista ruokaa. alueella on myös monia muita erinomaisia ravintoloita. On paikallinen kauppa 5 minuutin ajomatkan päässä (mutta se on myös kaunis 15 minuutin kävelymatka), ja siellä on suuri supermarket seuraavassa tärkeimmässä Broadfordin kaupungissa.

Sijaitsee Skye, siellä on pääsy moniin nähtävyyksiin siellä, kuten Cuillin vuoret, keiju altaat, dinosaurus fossiileja, klaanin linnoja ja tislaamot, puhumattakaan Old Man of Storr, musta ja valkoinen koralli rannat ja quiraing. Ardvasar is amazing!

Wow! What an awesome house with all the amenities. Kyle was a perfect host with great recommendations. We had a wonderful time exploring Skye from the home base of Drumgarry. Views from the house are breathtaking! Was sad to leave & hope to return. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the island of Skye. There is so much natural beauty to explore and enjoy. Our stay was adequate. It was a no frills dry and warm place to stay. Kinda what we expected when we booked this place. However, we were put off by the smell of cigarettes upon entering. The house has definitely been smoked in. I cannot recall if the description stated it was a non smoking property. We were able to have a fire in the fireplace which was really nice due to the cold weather that day. The place could use some updates. But the location was great, the view was awesome, and the price was right.

Quiet and Scenic

This house has ample space for a family or group of 6. Full sized kitchen and laundry room are a plus for a group. Both baths are separated from the bedrooms, only one shower and one tub. Heating and hot water are a challenge to operate

Fantastic views

Our arrival was delayed because of our flights. Got to the cottage @ 130am. After driving back& forth several times & no clue how to find places using latitudes, & a couple messages sent to Kyle ,we pulled to side of road & slept in our rental. Woke to birds @ 5 am. Drove around the area looking for a toilet. Sat in a petrol station till it opened. Saw a reply with precise directions from Kyle. And found the house. Took a bit to find the correct lock box & entrance key. But we got in & unloaded. The views are fantastic. Exterior needs some cleaning of cobwebs & such. Maybe make the carport usable for unloading a car in the rain. The flora around the house is just beautiful. Ferns, strawberries, crainsbill & so many others just tumbling & flowing thru the trees & shrubs. The morning we left, the rains/ wind the night before had knocked a small tree across the lane. As i walk w a cane, my sister had to walk down the hill to the restaurant and ask for a saw. But a wonderful man walked back up with her & pulled it out of the way so we could leave. So other than some exterior cleaning & landscape clean up the house is lovely. Though the beds were not comfortable. Thank you to Kyle for sending us directions. Skye is simply Unbelievable!

Excellent week at Drumgarry

We stayed at Drumgarry for a week in early April and could not have picked a better week weather wise. We are a family of 3 plus one small dog, and had a fantastic time. The house is large with plenty of space and has amazing views from the Livingroom/decking at the front of the property. The house is located in a very quiet and peaceful area with the added bonus of a lovely Inn at the foot of the drive that serves food throughout the day. Communication with Kyle was excellent throughout and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Isle of Skye

Lovely stay in a very beautiful place

The view, the yard, and the home interior were all gorgeous. It felt very much like a home, and we settled right in. The coal heating was a bit of an adjustment but my middle son.and I had fun figuring it out with the provided videos. Would absolutely stay again.

A lovely house with a stunning sea view

We enjoyed our stay in Drumgarry a lot. The terrace and the living room windows provide a great sea view. The beds are very comfortable. Everything was clean and in good shape. Good to also spend a rainy day in house - though I have heard that this rarely happens on Skye ;-) .

Everything was brilliant. The location of the house with the great view. The rooms are lovely, the kitchen and the living room very cosy. Our stay there was definitely too short and we hope to return one day.

Wonderful Stay

Home is a bit off the beaten path but wonderful accommodations and location. Very roomy with large kitchen and front sitting room. Views of the Atlantic were as promised and there were flowers everywhere. There is a wonderful local pub and hotel restaurant only a very short stroll away

Lovely short break

Stayed for just 2 nights in October Half term. Party of 6 (Inc two young teen children) and two small dogs. We had a lovely stay. Plenty of space for everyone, beds very comfortable with warm duvets. The kitchen had everything we needed to make home cooked meals and if you don’t feel like cooking the Inn at the bottom of the drive has a great menu. Washing machine was very handy, we were midway through our holiday so great to get a few items cleaned to wear again. We did use the coal fire located in the living room and the room warmed up nicely once we got it going. It was warm enough that the clothes dried overnight on the airer. :) It’s a perfect location if you are getting the ferry to or from Skye. Communication with Kyle was excellent beginning to end too. We would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family thinking of visiting the island! Thanks for having us.

Lovely stay!

We had a great time! It's quite a drive from most of the main/touristy spots on Isle of Skye, but its a beautiful drive. We were also a little intimidated by the coal fire heating system, but it actually made it a very cozy experience. Kyle was very communicative and helpful.

Peaceful stay on stunning Isle of Skye

The property itself was a beautiful find - quiet, so peaceful! We loved being able to open the french doors right out to the deck from the living room and one of the bedrooms and look at the view of water and mountains in the distance - a true vacation feeling and the large kitchen was great! House felt very roomy. Host was super easy to connect with, got an immediate response from Kyle with a question. It is a more isolated location which is not a problem if you plan ahead for dinner reservations -the one place you can walk to (The Inn at Aird A'Bhasair) gets full so we were glad we booked ahead for our 2nd night. Isle of Skye is magical - would love to come back!

Spacious, well equipped kitchen, responsive host.

Nice place. Spacious. Host was great. Lock is tricky on front door and we couldn’t get the dryer to dry clothes but it had a nice laundry room. Plenty of seating areas too.

Feels like home!

Very well prepared, well equipped, and comfortable. No trouble at all using the stove. Kept the home warm all day and night. Shower was lovely and we even did a load of wash. Will definitely return!

Fabulous stay

We had a superb stay at Drumgarry at Easter. House is so comfortable and cosy and we are hoping to return next year. Great location for walking and ideal for an evening stroll to the nearby pub. Kyle was great at answering any questions we had prior to our stay.

Lovely Stay!

This home was absolutely lovely! Comfortable for both a couple or a family. I read previous reviews regarding the coal fire. While it was a bit chilly upon arrival, if you understand how to get a fire going, it provides much better warmth than traditional heating. Once my husband got the fire going, it stayed very warm throughout the entire stay. Stove is quite larger than a traditional British stove which should make Americans like me (who have a 48" cooktop) quite happy. Appliances were easy to use.

Beautiful Property but Needs Better Heating System

I'll start off by saying that this house is beautiful. A lot of care has obviously been put into it. It was comfortable, spacious and you couldn't ask for a better view. I think if we had stayed in the spring or summer it would have been perfect. And Kyle was responsive to our questions leading up to the stay. But, we didn't stay during a warm season. The house uses a coal fired heating system. It is the responsibility of the person staying at the house to keep the system up and running. You have to start the fire (which is a bit of a pain) and it takes forever for it to get going. We were told it would take two hours for it to get up and running and then the house would warm up quickly after that. It was 57 degrees when we got there. We would also have to keep adding coal to the system every few hours. We started the fire around 6 p.m. By 10 p.m. the house was still freezing. It was about 59 degrees. We ended up sleeping bundled up and under every extra blanket we could find. The warmest it got was about 61 degrees. And, of course, because we didn't add more coal in the middle of the night, the fire went out and it whatever heat had been put out had disappeared. We didn't want to spend all day in the house keeping the heat running so we knew the whole process would start all over again when we got home that evening. We made the difficult decision to leave and find a hotel for our final two nights, which was super frustrating. I did email Kyle and let him know and ask if it was possible to get even a small refund because of the heating issue and never heard back. Up until that time he had been very responsive. I would add, we followed the step by step instructions to start and run the coal system so I do not believe it was user error. Anyway, like I said, the property is beautiful and I think it would be a great place to stay when the weather is a little warmer and you don't have to be dependent on a rather outdated heating system.
