Fantastic location in taksim square. Really interesting apartment with charm. Basic amenities to cook if you desire. Beds comfortanle and cooking worked well. Staff are Super friendly and do anything they can to assist. Daily housekeeping a bonus. Really great value for money. We had four adults in the room and it was very spacious.

Pleasant stay

I had a very pleasant stay, and would recommend others to stay here, if your wish is to stay close to the action and central area of Istanbul. You feel comfortable in the room, so it is a good safebase after walking around the city all day. You should note however, that if you are the "early to bed, early rise" kinda type, this place is not for you, as you can hear the music from the nearby nightclubs most of the night. You should also note, that the hotel has very thin walls, so you can hear EVERYTHING around you - that means the sounds of people walking up and down the stairs, talking loud, the person in the room above you walking around etc. If you are bothered by these things, don't stay here. The building is older, so this can't be helped. Furthermore, the description of the hotel claimed to have a functioning kitchen, and this is not entirely true. You have the most basic of stuff, like a plate or two, a few utensils, one pot, one pan, one stove top (so you can only cook one thing at a time), a microwave, fridge, and a electric kettle, but you're still a long way to actually be able to cook something worthy of eating. Besides this, you shouldn't worry about booking this hotel, not even if you're planning to stay for a longer period of time. It is a good place, and it has the best WiFi I have ever experienced in Turkey (big points for this one!). And the dürüm place next door makes the absolute best Adana dürüm, so buy this and enjoy in your room! :)

We would like to thank Romina, Mehmet, Emir and their angel face mother for taking of us during our stay in New Pera Hotel. The hotel is very close to all areas: restaurants (esp. Nevizade), Istiklal Caddesi, Taksim Square and Galata. It is even a 15 minute walking to Havabus if you are planning to take the bus going to airport. My son enjoyed our stay especially that he can watch his favorite cartoon network on TV in our room. The room is neat and clean...we dont mind taking the stairs since we really need to go up and down all over Istanbul. We booked for a 3 night stay and we didnt hear any noise from the clubs until the weekend (its understable since all people wants to have a good time on weekends). We are heavy sleepers (esp. after a tiresome day touring around Istanbul) so we dont care about the loud music at all. The staff are welcoming and friendly especially Emir. They allowed us to leave our bags after check out which is nice. We recommend to everyone to stay at New Pera. We will chose to stay at this place when we come back again to IST.

You get what you pay for!

Nice enough budget hotel. Only thing was that the music from the neighbouring clubs was VERY loud and went on till 5am. Other reviewers have mentioned this, but to give you an indication; it was not a background bass beat. I was actually able to clearly make out lyrics of songs in a language I barely understand. :-) However, on the plus side, decent location and nice staff and for the low price you really could do a lot worse!

Nice Hotel - Nice Location

Located in the heart of the city. less than 2 minutes walk to Istiklal Street, which is the most popular, lively and multicultural street in Istanbul, as well to some famous Night life places like French street, Çiçek Pasajı, Nevizade, Tunel, Asmali Mescid and Balik pasajı (Fish Passage) These places are known for the best restaurants and bars.located at the middle of istiklal street. The hotel is 10 minutes walk to the famous Galata Tower and to Taksim Square and metro station. under and around the hotel there are 24/7 open supermarkets, restaurants, mini shops, and bakeries. people have said there's noise around the hotel , BUT I WOULD SAY it was very normal, this is Istanbul :) and part of the experience. the room was clean, great wifi and necessary amenities, tea , cups , kettle. the Staff were SUPER helpful and speak good english. It was like renting an apt. we stayed 4 days and WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK.

Nice hotel newly renovated. Staff are very nice.

This hotel is a very nice one. Rooms are well made and clean. Staff are very helpful and nice. The problem with this hotel is that it is in a very very busy street and people there just keep partying till the morning. Moreover, it is very hard to find. We arrived at 5 am and still there was some noises but if we had arrived before am sure that we would have never slept a second. The location it self is good if u disregard the noises since it is in the heart of istiklal street in middle of Istanbul near taksim. U can walk from the bus stop when u come from the airport near the point hotel, it takes about 20-25 mins walking at tops along with ur bags since it is a straight way. Taxi costs not more than 10 TL, but I recommend walking. Hotel also rents scooters, we we ended up renting one, but for a very high price 27$ per day which is triple that of a car rent, but it was worth the experience. I might consider this hotel again if I will be arriving late only. If u r not interested in partying and spending night out do not book in this hotel, otherwise it is fine.

Budget

The hotel is for budget travelers who want to be in the middle of nightlife area. It's located few minutes from Istiklal and there are many cafes, restaurants and nightclubs just next to it (very noisy at night). The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was in the upper floor, very clean and spacious with few windows. The stairs are very narrow though especially with luggage. I couldn't sleep until 3AM when the nightclubs next door stopped life-signing every night.
