Welcome to Hayam Villas, please read carefully. Is Hayam Villas Right For You? 🌺
We are a villa in the village of jambiani, not a remote resort bubble, 1 or 2 minutes walk from the stunning white sand beach in Zanzibar west coast.
You’ll love it here if you appreciate: eco-simplicity, genuine village life, and boutique comfort without the resort bubble. This is real Zanzibar — melodic call to prayer at sunrise, children laughing on their way to school, mamas cooking outside their homes, monkeys in the trees. Beautiful, alive, and unhurried.
Not the right fit if you need a resort-style experience.
Fatoumata, Ozil and Christina are from Jambiani village, they will be there to welcome you and take care of you — bringing genuine local warmth to every stay.
5% of every booking goes to the local primary schools and dispensary.

⚠️ Real Talk
This is village life — not a resort. You will hear the call to prayer (it’s beautiful), see local waste management realities, and experience the slow pace of island time (pole pole). We you order your food it is cooked fresh from scratch 🥰 That’s the point. Guests who embrace it leave with full hearts. We live close by. Here when you need us, invisible when you don’t. Available online in Swahili, English, French, Dutch, Spanish and Arabic. We organise all island excursions at honest local prices — dolphins, spice tours, dhow cruises, Stone Town, kitting, snorkeling, Jozani forest and more. Just ask. 🌱 Proudly imperfect by design. Built with local materials and local craftsmanship. You may notice the beautiful imperfections of a hand-built village home — this is intentional, not an oversight.
🕌 We are a village home 🥰
Zanzibar is predominantly Muslim and the neighbouring mosques are beautiful and active — expect the melodic call to prayer five times daily including sunrise. Many guests tell us it’s one of their favourite parts of staying here.
⚡ Solar-powered — Zanzibar experiences power cuts especially in high season. Lights and WiFi stay on during island power cuts. 40L drinking water included per stay.
🔒 24-hour security on site. Safe, quiet, family-friendly village location.
