Host sent a message in the App Tuesday to provide general information for the Saturday check-in. He said that he will provide the key code about 24 hours before check-in. Unfortunately, he never sent that information. We tried to check in Saturday at 4pm, only to realize that he never sent the code. We reached out to him via the Vrbo app, which is the only way we had to communicate with him. He did not respond. After waiting some time outside in the cold without a response, we reached out to Vrbo, and were on the phone with Vrbo for 1:20hrs. Vrbo also tried reaching out to the host, but were also unsuccessful. Finally, Vrbo relocated us to another property. Mind you that all this was happening at a ski resort, with outside temperatures at 25F. We later got a message from the host with the key code. But clearly at the time, it was way too late. I briefly explained the situation to him, and his response was "So sorry about that. I wish you could have called me direct". Somewhat perfunctory apology, and then attempting to shift the blame to me? He never gave me his phone number, nor was Vrbo able to reach him.Overall, terrible experience with the host.The Vrbo team that was on the phone with me was nice and helpful.
