Kruger park was only about 20 minutes away by drive. All of the staff were wonderful. So friendly. Whatever you wanted, they would get for you. I couldn’t single out one staff member because they were all perfect. The suites are gorgeous and spotless with a wonderful view of the Sabe River. The food was excellent and so plentiful. I couldn’t think of a better place to stay to get to Kruger and experience the game drives. The drivers were excellent and it was easy to see their love for the animals and nature of South Africa. Highly recommend.

Elephants, hippos and monkeys right outside of door. It was a peaceful and beautiful experience. The staff were the best I’ve ever encountered in my travels. Absolutely genuine and beautiful people. A new resort that is still flying under the radar. Take advantage of it while you can.

Service was amazing , the team was so lovely and welcoming . You felt right at home from the moment you stepped onto the property! The rooms are spacious , clean with comfortable bed! The food was delicious, and was such a well crafted menu to fit anyone’s taste. The meal presentation was also beautiful . The game drive was so fun and our guide Jimmy was so knowledgeable, we got to see 4/5 of the Big five within 24hours. It was an absolutely perfect stay, they made my birthday memorable

The rooms were lovely and the staff were for the most part friendly however at this price point the lack of attention to detail was not acceptable. Room snacks were inadequate and not replentished daily. Personal amenities not replenished daily. Food was good but the menu needs work: no pork served (if you want to serve Halal that should be an option, not the norm), one day lunch was all salads but the next no salads, bread served with first dinner but not the remaining ones, Hotels.com amenities do not match hotel website amenities, Cheese platter served without biscuits, some days poolside service but others we had to look for service. I have stayed at other hotels in the area that were better. At the price, I expect exceptional, not ordinary.

Great birthday trip!

Fantastic stay! The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The room had a great river view and a small private cold pool. I also appreciated the option of the outdoor shower. The room was always clean and very nice and big. The staff were absolutely amazing. Only a few things I would change: Replenishing the drinks in the fridge during our 3 day stay would have been nice. Also the afternoon game drives should have been scheduled later like at 330, and the option of a night game drive would have been nice as well. In addition, the property neeeds an onsite spa space, and a bar near the pool would be nice as well. But I would recommend this to family and friends and I would stay here again.

Incredible first safari

Generally incredible stay. Staff were very attentive. Not as luxury as hotels such as say lion sands which is twice the price though you get all the comfort you need given how busy the days are. If you plan on spending more time in the hotel / room maybe look for more luxury but the balance of comfort and access to the park was perfect for us as first time safari travelers Perfect mix of hotel comfort and access to safari with two daily drives with very knowledgable guides. Small negative was the food was only ok but the quality of the surrounding and access to Kruger more than compensated. We had a family of elephants welcome us on our first day with regular hippo and bird sightings from the terrace during out four nights. We also got engaged in the park. The staff and Elof the guide coordinated an unforgettable experience for my partner and I. Truly made the experience special.

Leopard Sands Kruger Park does absolutely not live up to the description on their Mariott Bonvoy Hotel website. To start with a positive note, the room is pleasant and was clean. For the rest it was a massive disappointment. The main area of the hotel is soulless. It looks and feels like a 3 star airport hotel anywhere in the world. The outdoor areas are non inviting after dark. Some areas have too much glaring light other areas are dark. The small exterior pool and the area around are not lit at night. One does not know where to sit relax and enjoy after dinner. The dining room is a sad looking grey room. No ambience, no candles, the red fire extinguishers and the green exit signs are the most visible decorative objects on the walls, not the ideal decoration in what is supposed to be a unique safari experience. The hip hop TV generated music was blasting loud over dinner. Unpleasant ! The food was pathetic. Below hospital cantina level. We were served a three paper thin slices of an unripe tomato with three paper thin slices of an industrial cheese and three basil leaves for decoration. Total estimated cost of the dish…20 cents…excluding labor cost !! Shocking ! Alternatively the menu offered a vegetable soup ! During our two night stay there was no trace of a welcoming management team member, not to mention a General Manager. Staff was aimlessly wandering around. The next morning we arrived for breakfast at 7.15 am. No breakfast was set up. Staff standing around !
