While we chose the hotel based on its central location - with Nishiki market and the Gion district within walking distance - the hotel, staff and amenities completely exceeded expectations. Everything was wonderful, including the excellent buffet breakfast with both Japanese and European options. The room was larger than expected with a small but efficient modular bathroom that included a bathtub and shower. The room also had a kettle and excellent green tea. Coffee was available in the foyer.

Location was amazing! we love being in central areas with markets and restaurants within walking distance. lots of cafes and many different types of cuisines, including italian, korean. hard to find breakfast early in the morning though. hospitality was excellent. breakfast buffet was a little pricy but good. close to a very busy market place where you can find all sorts of goods and services.

The bed was big and comfortable with many pillows! The front desk staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast had many options and was delicious. They give you two bottles of water every day. And the location was perfect for me, very convenient to many popular destinations. This will probably be my first choice in Kyoto from now on.

The location is really good and even close to Gion, a short walk away. I loved it and was shocked at the affordability for the quality compared to another stay in Gion.

This hotel is very centrally located in Kyoto with walking to many places. It is close to the river with walking paths which I appreciate it to get out of the hustle and bustle. The morning breakfast is definitely worth it and a great way to start the day. The rooms are small but in true Japanese style every detail is utilized for comfort and storage. I would recommend.

Bigger than usual rooms in Japan. Nice helpful staff. Mix of Japanese and Western breakfast dishes. Perfect location. Will not hesitate to book this hotel again and will even recommend.
