The room is tiny and not very comfortable, there is barely place to put a suitcase or open it. It's a pitty that there is no breakfast at the hotel, but on the other hand, there are plenty of cafes with excellent breakfasts right near the hotel. However, the hotel is in a great location, there is everything around - food, shopping, a bus stop and a train station.

Had everything we needed and was conveniently located close to transit, restaurants, convenience stores & shopping. They had luggage storage options which were easy and secure. Would definitely stay again!

Convenient but busy location

The hotel was nice and convenient to public transportation. However, the area of Kyoto was very busy and industrial.

Not ideal for business travelers who have to work

The room was okay and clean overall, (the bathroom was very clean) but it was somewhat smelly. Also, the window could not be opened to air out the room. Also, the chair at the desk was incredibly uncomfortable. For a business traveler who has to spend some time working at the desk in the room this was a deal breaker. I would not recommend it for business travelers.

Great value

The accomodation was great, for the price we paid we had a clean room with all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect because it was near all the good spots in kyoto. Overall i reccomend this plac for a trip in kyoto.

Great central location!

Very central location. Literally a block in one direction for the busy sleek newer looking streets and an easy walk, bus, or taxi to historic areas. There is a bus station and taxi stand a block away. Definitely a small room but nothing unexpected for metro areas. Laundry and vending machine downstairs next to the smoking room and bathrooms. Take advantage of the luggage shipping available. I shipped 3 bags for $54 usd to Tokyo! Be sure to search specifically for Karasuma as there are multiple hotel M locations very close to each other and Google maps picks up on a different location by default as of right now.
