This was our first time in a ryokan, and we really enjoyed it. We found the staff very helpful. Their English was excellent, which was helpful, since our Japanese is limited. We only ate one Japanese breakfast in the hotel, but it was tasty. It was a great location, convenient to many places of interest.

It wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t particular impressed. The location is good. I was annoyed that the onsen was an extra charge and is time limited
The staff was great! It was my first time visiting Kyoto and staying at a traditional ryokan and I very much enjoyed the experience. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again during my next trip to Kyoto.

All the staff were very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Our room smelt bad but we didn't want to complain because we thought the smell would disappear but it didn't . Our children's room was fine though.

The room was very clean. The hotel was very nicely located. The amenities at the hotel were very accommodating. The staff was very polite and friendly. It's a very traditional looking hotel inside and I loved the decor. Breakfast was delicious and you have a choice between a traditional Japanese breakfast or American. Wuite delicious. A+++ I would definitely stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay here. The traditional ryokan experience was unforgettable and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained, and the facilities were excellent. Overall an outstanding experience
Best hotel my partner and I have ever stayed at. Staff were friendly and accomodating. The experience was priceless. We will definitely be returning. We were happy to find out there is a Tokyo location.
The staff and environment were lovely. We were invited to relax and enjoy a cup of tea before checking in while the staff assisted other guests. The entire lobby and sitting areas instantly promote a sense of calm and serenity. Unfortunately for us, we didn’t realize we should have arrived earlier in order to reserve a time in the bath. We were disappointed about this but that was our “rookie” mistake. The room was clean and quaint. We enjoyed the use of the yukata provided and the futons and bedding were very comfortable. The duvets and sheet coverings were so soft and fluffy. Thank you for a real treat of this Japanese ryokan experience!
We stayed only one night to have the experience of a traditional ryokan and we’re glad we did. The staff was very helpful. We had the traditional Japanese breakfast and it was delicious.
Walkable distance from the busier shopping streets and metro stations. In a nice quiet neighborhood. Gave restaurant recommendations which is really helpful for tourists.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this traditional ryokan. We opted for the tatami mats which were extremely comfortable and provided an authentic experience. All of the staff were so helpful and attentive, the Japanese breakfast was delicious, and we really enjoyed the selection of drinks at the in-house bar. If you stay here, I’d recommend taking advantage of the activities offered by the hotel - we took part in a traditional tea ceremony and loved it! The lady who ran this was so lovely and made this experience one of the highlights of our trip.
The location was also fantastic; we were within walking distance of so many great shops, restaurants and things to do. If I had one tiny gripe, it would be that the air conditioning unit in the room was a bit noisy and might bother you if you’re a light sleeper. That being said, this is vastly outweighed by the many other pros to staying here. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a traditional stay in a lovely part of Kyoto!
This stay was the perfect place for our first night on Kyoto. A blend of authentic and tradition, with a helpful staff as well. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.
My stay here was amazing definitely my favorite place I stayed at while I was exploring Japan for 2 weeks. The rooms were gorgeous with the tatami mats and traditional decor. The whole staff was incredibly kind and accommodating special shoutout to Sana for helping me find fun things to do around the city and for making my bed lol. Even when I accidentally missed the breakfast that I scheduled and showed up 3 hours late they were all very nice and still gave me excellent food and service sorry if I stressed y’all out! I had an amazing time the staff made me feel very welcome and at home and I highly recommend staying here if you have the chance!
