Room had an amazing view of the mountains, and was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Staff were helpful, and amenities were great with public baths, a free drink in the evening, and free coffee and tea throughout the day. The lobby was well maintained and had a great vibe. I really loved this place and here is why: my room had a double bed a d it was spacious, the onsen was great for early morning and end of day bathing, the lobby was elegant with a free coffee/tea station all day long, free happy hour, free massage chairs and a delicious breakfast with all sorts of mini sandwiches, smoothies, and lots of Japanese specialties to try. I've stayed in a few different hotels in Kyoto and this was my favorite.

Great hotel! Within easy walking distance of the train station, with an amazing buffet breakfast -- the best we encountered during our 3 weeks in Japan -- and a free drink each evening. And the price was great, too! (We were there during the off-season, though -- in February.)
