I recently stayed at Hyatt Regency Barcelona with two other friends. For two of us, it was our first time in the city.
The hotel is about a 40-minute drive from the main town, which we were aware of beforehand, so the distance wasn’t a surprise. Check-in was smooth, and we received a warm welcome. A staff member (Ahmed, I believe) kindly helped us with our luggage. We were also offered a welcome drink, although it took around 10 minutes to arrive.
One of my friends’ rooms had a birthday cake inside, but the staff explained it was due to a room switch, so it wasn’t a major issue. The rooms themselves were beautiful — spacious, very clean, with comfortable beds, pristine bathrooms, and a nice city view.
On the downside, the lifts were confusing and felt quite outdated. The buffet breakfast seemed overpriced, so we mostly ate outside. Another disappointment was the pool: online photos made it look like a rooftop pool, but in reality, it was a much smaller pool area located downstairs.
That said, the lobby was large and comfortable, which was convenient while waiting for taxis.
Overall, my stay was okay — there were definitely some positives, but also areas where the experience could be improved.
