Let down by Rio and Hotels.com

I was moved twice due to issues with my rooms in the Ipanema tower. The Rio finally moved my to the Masquerade tower. The room I was finally given was $340 cheaper than my original booking. However they weren't willing to give me the difference. Hotels.com wouldn't refund the difference either because they couldn't get ahold of the hotel. Super disappointed. I'll never stay at the Rio again. Hotels.com policies didn't protect me. There The Masquerade tower was dated. There was also a sewage flood in the hallway leading up to the room.

This hotel is my absolute favorite. The beds r extremely comfortable, spacious bathrooms & comfy couch with a nice kitchen set. The pools r awesome & I don’t know what they do to keep them so cool with the outside temps being so hot but the pool temps r perfect. They have Smashburgers, Tony Lukes & Wetzel Pretzels. Love the Rio!!!!

Not having hot water for 2 days if my stay is insane. The amount of money i spent at this property i should be guaranteed hot water. I wouldnt allow this in my rental home. I feel cheated.it is 2025 hot water isnt hard. I am on vaction. this was the most wild thing that has ever happened to me in las vegas. These high prices and lack of amenities is why people are stopping going to vegas. Be better

Do not stay in the Masquerade Towers. The room we stayed in was old, outdated, the shower leaked as the doors were crusted open and the Air Conditioning barely functioned. The bathroom counters were crusted over with calcium deposits. The bed was fine. They should not offer these rooms until they are renovated.

Food options were just okay. Not enough variety. It was hamburgers or some sort of Asian food. The tavern was terrible. Slow service and I got not just one but two poorly cooked steaks in the same meal. The building appears to be in disrepair throughout with signage, broken, many of the stores closed, bars closed-most of the time I couldn’t find a single bar open. The biggest gripe was the pieces and parts falling off of the buildings annd villas and dead/dying trees around the property. It just wasn’t a good look the initial room that we got the vast was horrible. It had to unlock door to an area where there was construction going on or something and even setting the AC to the lowest temperature the room just stayed warm the second room we were given to replace that one though nicer showed a very poor remodel. Overall, it was just a bad experience and then there was just never anyone there at the front desk. It appeared. They always wanted you to use the app. I don’t pay a premium to have then have to self service with the app so I will be giving this hotel poor reviews across the board with detailed photos of my issues so so others can choose a hotel that’s clean, and in a state of repair that merits the cost. The one saving grace was the pool and the pool staff, that area seemed to not even be associated with the rest of the hotel. Super nice and worth the price of the drinks just because the service was so awesome.

Kangs service was a waste for price as. The server ignored us nose of our meal. She helped others with what each dish was to others but not us. Table games were paltry with many tables not in use well.

It wasn't quiet. You are too far away for shopping. No pizza. Not walkable, unless you like asphalt, cement and buses to see. Not convenient to anything. I would not "dream" of driving here. For the purpose of the convention I walked my legs off and my feet and ankles were swollen from walking and standing. I enjoyed the movies at night, 10:00pm to midnight. Food costs were terrible. The people were great. I bet only $8 and got 54 cents in return.

Like most Vegas hotels, they refuse to give you a microwave or tea kettle. Not having the kettle is worse, because it means you have to get up every morning and go wait in line at the over-crowded Starbucks. I needed to have an emergency card shipped to me. And the front desk charged me $17 to hand it over. Yes, $17! That's outrageous. The staff for the most part are unhelpful and rude. I was here for a conference, but I would never stay here if I had a choice in the matter.
