The Space:
A log cabin on 6 private acres of lodgepole pine, built for a group of six to share one roof. Two king bedrooms sit downstairs off the main living space; the loft is up top.
➔ Great Room — River rock fireplace, vaulted log ceilings, and walls of windows over the pines.
➔ Kitchen — Full kitchen with a gas range and breakfast bar, stocked to cook group dinners.
➔ Bedroom 1 — King bed, enclosed and quiet, on the lower level.
➔ Bedroom 2 — Second king with log walls and a forest-facing window.
➔ Upstairs Loft — Open A-frame loft with a king and two twins.
➔ Outside — Deck in the trees, BBQ grill, in-unit laundry, and parking for several vehicles, with the Arkansas River and a 154-acre open space right off the property.
3 Pros:
- A real bed for everyone — three kings and two twins.
- 6 private acres on the river, 2 miles from downtown Leadville.
- River rock fireplace and a fully stocked kitchen for group meals.
2 Cons:
- No A/C — Leadville's elevation keeps nights cool; central heat handles winter.
- The loft is open to the level below, so light sleepers should take an enclosed bedroom.
Guest Access:
You'll have the entire cabin and the 6 acres to yourselves. Check-in is self-service — you'll get a guidebook link by email before arrival with door codes, directions, and local tips. Park several vehicles in the on-site lot. Exterior security cameras (not actively monitored) cover the entrance for safety; there are none inside.
The Neighborhood:
Two miles from downtown Leadville — North America's highest incorporated city at 10,152 ft — with cafes, restaurants, and historic storefronts along Harrison Avenue. The cabin borders the Arkansas River and a 154-acre open space, with Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive on the skyline. Turquoise Lake is 10 minutes away and Ski Cooper 15. Hike, fish, and climb 14ers or run the Leadville 100 in summer; ski, tube, and snowmobile in winter.
Getting Around:
A car is the way to get around up here. It's a 2-mile drive to downtown Leadville, 10 minutes to Turquoise Lake, and 15 minutes to Ski Cooper. Denver is about 2 hours east. Downtown has plenty of street and lot parking. The cabin sits on a county road, and the driveway and lot hold several vehicles.
Other Things to Note:
License #2026-042.
No A/C — Leadville's elevation keeps nights cool, and central heat covers winter. Not pet friendly. Stays over 15 nights include a required mid-stay cleaning.
Altitude is real: Leadville sits near 10,000 ft, and the first day or two can bring dizziness or nausea — hydrate and ease in. Consider travel insurance if you're sensitive to elevation.
This is the high country, so you may see wildlife or the occasional insect — keep doors closed when you can. Snowmobiles must stay trailered on the property; the closest trailhead is Leadville Junction toward Turquoise Lake. Exterior security cameras (not monitored) cover the entrance.
