Check-in was unavailable until 4.30pm, despite 3pm being stated.
The member of staff that actually checked us in was lovely and he apologised for the delay, however another member of staff signposted us to the check-in machines knowing that rooms were not ready.
The room itself was a deluxe room. Generally ok, but only one set of towels available, no information about the hotel in the room and the bed seemed to slope to one side. Cleaning was obviously done in a rush, only half the table wiped (where the glasses go) as there was a clear 50:50 dust line and there were cloth wipe lines in the bathroom i.e. middle of shower screen, middle and on door, rather than wiping whole thing.
Breakfast had a great selection and was fresh. Highlight of the stay. Coffee machine was a bit naff - coffee not great and hot chocolate was more milk and water.
Hotel has great location and easy parking at John Lewis with discount code.
Overall good hotel, shame about the check-in issues and rushed cleaning.
