Excellent location: 6 minute walk from Paddington station; 5 minutes from Kensington Gardens; many pubs and bistros near by; very safe location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room could use some refreshing (the carpet needs replacing) and breakfast was OK. We would definitely stay here again.

The reception area and desk were grubby and overcluttered, which gave a poor experience from the initial walk through the doors, however the receptionist made up for this disappointing start with his cheery welcome. The room was comfortable, and had lovely sleep inducing bed, but the bathroom was squeezed into the corner with an unnecessary step up at the doorway. This made little sense as there was plenty of space in the room to have given more space to the bathroom. It was very tired in its fittings also. Breakfast finished far too early and, having had a very long day of travelling and being too tired to get up before 9am we missed the breakfast that we had paid for. The position of the hotel is conveniently positioned for Paddington Station and we were able to get breakfast around the corner, though at extra cost. We are glad that we were only there for one night.

Great location and value

I selected this hotel based on location, price and amenities and was so happy I found this gem! It was in walking distance from Paddington Station and was near other bus and Underground stations. They provided a complimentary full English breakfast and their dining room experience was a pleasant way to start our day. They offered free WiFi that was quite fast. Their front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel!

I was hear when it was around 77 degrees Fahrenheit and with the windows open, no problems at all despite the lack of air conditioning. Nice place to stay and super close to the Paddington ststuon.

Good location, close to Paddington Station. Convenient. Rooms are small. Based on published information, we were supposed to get a 183 sq. ft room. But our room was ~ 100 sq ft.. Tiny room. They have breakfast. Unfortunately, most people in the breakfast room do not speak English. So, it didn't matter what I wanted or asked for; I got what they understood every day. However, I must say, everyone was nice. It is just an old building, a slow elevator, and tiny rooms.

Great location, just 2 blocks away from Paddington station, where the Tube trains (local subway lines), commuter trains and cross country trains can be accessed. The station also has a mini mall attached with stores and restaurants. We used the tube to travel around the city and surrounding areas. Very convenient. The hotel is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood, very walkable with lots of nice local restaurants nearby. The hotel is an older facility, rooms and bathrooms were small but comfortable. Breakfast is included, served every morning and there is an onsite lounge/bar area for evening cocktails. It’s not air conditioned, but our open window and a fan kept us quite comfortable, even a little chilly at night. Our trip was in late May, so not sure if it would be the same during summer months. There is a lovely, huge park nearby with a beautiful lake, walking and bike riding trails, and beautiful gardens. If you walk through the park, ~a 2 mile walk, on the other side you’ll be close to some major attractions, e.g., Harrods and more. It’s such a lovely area, and I would definitely stay at the Mitre House again

Freindly staff, great location , safe and quiet neighborhood plus 1 block from Paddington. And lots of places to eat and 10 min walk to Kensington. Breakfast was served daily with warm food and warm smiles. Katie , front desk employee fir 8ver 49 years there…started right after grade school 😂 too young to have work there that long❤️
