Staff was nice and the hotel was clean and newer only reason for the 4 stars vs 5 stars is we booked a king bed room and it was two twin beds pushed together which made it uncomfortable as you could feel the ridge of the bed. Staff added a mattress topper that helped a bit but it wasn’t a true king bed. Location was pretty good if you’re willing to walk a decent amount to the old town and new town attractions but not ideal if you have a hard time with longer walks or don’t want to have to take public transportation or Ubers to see the main attractions of Edinburgh.

The room was bad. Stains and something sticky on the table. There was privacy concern as other side of room window was emergency exit and anyonr can see you. Never stay.

The front desk staff was very pleasant, efficient and helpful. However the room is tired and was not very clean…I can see stains on the floor and the bathroom counter. In addition, I am surprised that there are no bedside lights. I only stayed for one night for convenience as I had an early morning flight.
