Helpful staff, comfortable bed, very well cleaned, easy overnight parking, pleasant street side terrace, easy check-in.
However, the room is very dilapidated and has a very strange layout which totally undermines all the good stuff. I feel bad criticising, but this room really needs some attention to come in line with the great standards of comfort, cleanliness and helpfulness the staff are giving.
Bed sticks out a few inches across the en-suite door so it does not fully open.
Furniture is battered. I realise funds may be tight but even Freecycle might be worth looking at to improve on this. Even the high cleaning standard can’t hide the bad condition of the existing pieces
Carpet is not fitted so its edges aren’t gripped down and fold up the walls. In one area there is a patchwork of offcuts with no attempt to tape them together for any neatness or fix, so there are gaps and tufts of loose threads.
Velux blind is torn out of runners so hard to lift/lower.
A/c unit useful in the heatwave but so loud it can’t be used when sleeping, plus it intrudes far into the already crowded space.
Suggest swapping bed head position to where wardrobe is and replacing tiny and bedraggled wardrobe with a modern rail and rack in the bed’s current position.
Such a pity the layout/furniture is so poor as this has potential to be a nice cosy little room.
