Paddington is a great London location to stay in. It is centrally located and super convenient, with the Paddington station a quick walk around the corner. The staff at the Tudor Court Hotel was very friendly and tried to be accommodating. I was disappointed that the hotel did not agree to give us a refund or discount after our flight was delayed and we did not stay one of the nights we had booked. I also was less than satisfied because the room we stayed it was extremely hot, and had a strange odor. They were doing some work in the hotel during our stay, and the staff was very apologetic and kind about the situation. However, it was still an annoyance to be jet lagged and tired from poor sleep in our hot room then asked to leave our room at a certain time because of the work being done. The air conditioner did not work and there was poor air circulation in the room. I was extremely disappointed to find that the hotel refused to give us any type of refund despite these conditions because we “didn’t complain” during our stay. I did not want to be harsh on the staff, but they should have known in good faith that the conditions were not acceptable.

This Hotel was so convenient to Paddington Station, shops and restaurants. The highlight was the lovely and very helpful staff. They helped with our bags, greeted us with such a friendly manner and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. I will definitely return to this Hotel.

Don't let the photos fool you. I booked this place for 8 nights with the impression I would have a room and some closet space, windows and somewhat decorated. However upon arrival i needed to buzz the frontdoors to be let in, and was directed to my room which was near the fron desk. Upon entering the room, I was struck by the smell which was sewery and moldy and i noticed the wood boarding as it was a not well done and saw 3 hangers hanging from a metal. I spoke with the front desk and informed him of the issues and said rooms varies and was not guaranteed and he came to inspect the smell and did not smell anything. he offered a air freshner. I was on the first floor, heard every guest come in and out, some were loud and the buzzer was too much plus you heard and felt the tube (train) the morning after

The room was small but clean. It had a duvet rather than sheets which i prefer. it was on the 4 floor but no lift only stairs. Ok for me though on the 3rd floor there was no handrail. Really does need one if only for safety reasons.

They charged us 10 GBP to use the air conditioning unit in the room. We were given the room in the basement which had an old stench. The bathroom was very small. On the plus side, the location is fine, being literally a few steps away from Paddington station.

Hotel is very outdated. No elevator, no AC unless paying extra, rooms and bathrooms are pretty small. Water flow is pretty low. No microwave. Staff is very friendly but I believe price is not that great considering there are many lack of amenities.

The rooms were very small but extremely clean. We stayed here 2 years ago, so we knew the rooms would be smaller than we are used to in the US. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were able to drop off our luggage several hours before check-in. When we came back to check-in, they had already placed our luggage in our room. It is very close to Paddington station so getting anywhere in the city was easy. There was also plenty of eating places close by.

Air conditioning warning

Air conditioning was advertised on hotels.com as an included amenity but was then asked to pay a fee for a room with air conditioning which was extremely disappointing. The room was up several flights of stairs and hot and stuffy - the window only slightly opened too. The bathroom was incredibly small and there was no room to move. There was a small fan that helped and the reception was very nice to us although they did ask for a fee to check in one hour early.

This is a budget hotel. While the description states that they have AC, we had to pay 10 pounds extra to use it. This seems to be unethical, because they shouldn't be allowed to say the room has AC and then raise the booking price. Customers should know how much their room costs at booking. The property also doesn't have an elevator, so if you cannot climb stairs, do not book.
