Beautiful Lucchese apartment with stunning views from the main terrace over the ancient rooftops of the Old Town, and beyond to the beautiful Lucca hills and Garfagnana mountains. Situated inside the ancient walls and next to Via Fillungo, the main pedestrian and shopping street in Lucca, the apartment is ideally located. Stroll down to the piazza's for a leisurely breakfast and soak up some of the culture and history of this unique city, before heading out to the scenic Lucca hills for an afternoon hike. For those more adventurous, the Garfagnana mountains beckon, an area of outstanding natural beauty and no more than 40 minutes drive away. During the summer, the beaches of Viareggio can be reached in approximately 30 minutes. Or simply chill out and spend the day strolling the historic walls and streets, or shopping in the Old Town, where you will find fantastic variety and value. In the evening, superb restaurants and bars can be found within 5-10 minutes walking distance, where the joys of Italian cuisine and wine await.

The 3rd floor apartment has been tastefully decorated, comes fully equipped for extended visits, including air-conditioning, central heating, wi-fi, all modern kitchen appliances and super comfy beds! Consisting of two floors, the upper level contains a master bedroom and bathroom, living area and the spacious main terrace. The lower level has three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and dining area and a balcony/utility room. Parking, taxi and public bus services are all available within 150 metres of the property in Piazza Santa Maria. We have an extensive collection of DVD's and books to chill out with and pets are welcome.

This apartment was perfect in every way. Everything was very clean. The apartment was well equipped, the WiFi reliable. The upstairs terrace in spectacular! The location of the apartment was perfect, a short walk to the Lucca Wall or into to town and easy drop off / pick up for our transportation. Cristiano was very thoughtful and thorough, his walkthrough of the apartment upon our arrival was perfect. Highly recommend this apartment!

Rita's place was a real home. Great furnishings, comfortable king bed, effective AC, all the kitchen equipment you'd need, great balcony view, nice wall art, and Christiano just across the landing to help us with every question. We loved the location very near the social wine bar gatherings, but far enough away for it to be a quite night at #66. Short walk to the spendid Antifeatro where we ate three dinners, and very close to a wall entrance where we rode bikes. Thank you Rita for creating such a lovely place for us!

Amazing property!!

This two story flat is great! We had so much space. All the shops we went to in Lucca within 15 min walk. We used the trains to go to Pisa (30 min) and Florence (90 min). Shops and restaurants in Lucca great. Town is so beautiful. We loved walking the walk around the town too. While Rome and Florence were very crowded, Lucca was much less crowded and easy to traverse. Our property was terrific. Cristiano made sure we were always ok. Lucca was our favorite part of trip and this property was perfect for 5 person family.

Wonderful Lucca apartment!

This property is inside the historic walls and perfectly located, close to everything! The apartment had everything we needed - terrace, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms. Lucca is a charming town with beautiful architecture, very good restaurants and cafes, and close to hiking in the hills and mountains. It was great to be able to get around without a car using the trains. We hope to be back!

Perfect in every way

My husband, two kids (9 and 11), and I stayed in this apartment for 1 month in August 2024. It was perfect! We loved every second and would go back to this same apartment in a heart beat. Months later we still talk about how we miss the apartment in Lucca. The apartment’s spacious and well equipped. We were worried about the air conditioning in August and this place did not disappoint. The rooms stayed cool, the air conditioning cooled the whole place.(we live in Florida USA for reference). The rooms were nicely appointed with plenty of storage. The kitchen had everything we needed. The balcony was so wonderful for sitting with a drink and a book after a long day of sight seeing. Christano was so helpful. He went above and beyond at every turn. The location of the apartment is great and parking was a breeze. Sure there are stairs but it gave us a good workout to eat more delicious food. The apartment was quiet at night despite being close to the action. There is nothing negative we can say about this apartment. We look forward to returning one day and staying in this same place. It felt like home.

Lucca

Lovely flat over 2 floors. Beautiful views from the balcony, Had absolutely everything we needed. Really useful to have a washing machine and air con. 2 things to bear in mind. There are 4 flights of stairs and they are quite steep. Also I initially when booking thought there was parking but old lucca has a small amount of paid parking spaces and then only parking for local residents. It is possible to find free parking spaces outside of the town walls but normally this is a 10 minute walk. The area is beautiful and we would definitely visit again. Lucca is packed full of interesting buildings and perfect for pottering. We also enjoyed the beaches down by Viareggio and walks up near Bagni de lucca. Christiano lives next door and met us on arrival to show us the flat and was super helpful. In summary: amazing flat. Great facilities. Lovely area. And wonderful Italian food and weather! Thank you :)

Spacious and Comfortable

My husband, cousin and I spent 9 days in this beautifully appointed apartment. Near the Amphitheatre, the neighborhood has the right combination of liveliness, proximity to good restaurants and bars, and shopping. The balcony provides a wonderful view above the tiled rooftops of Lucca and the perfect spot for a glass of wine and outside dining. The apartment also has easy access to the city wall. Rita Doyle was always very helpful and quick to respond to questions prior to our arrival and Cristiano was most helpful in getting us settled. Vacationers should note that there are several flights of steps up to the third-floor apartment which could be problematic for older guests. However, it’s well worth the effort to stay in such a comfortable and spacious abode.

Wonderful Apartment in Lucca

Everything exceeded our expectations. Communication with the host was easy and he was helpful. The apartment is large, very clean and beautiful. The deck had an amazing view and was perfect for breakfasts and dinners at home. The place even had little touches that other rentals sometimes lack - there were extra cleaning supplies and kitchen essentials (salt, EVOO, spices). The location was great. We would recommend it and would return in a heartbeat.

Couldn't ask for better accommodation in Lucca

The apartment was exceptional in all aspects, even better than description on website. We were 4 friends requiring own bedrooms so accommodation was perfect for us. The apartment was spotless with all amenities one would require with washing machine and diswasher and clothesline. Wonderful terrace to enjoy breakfasts and evening drinks.The location was central to everything in Lucca, about 15-20 minutes walk to train station. We went to Cinque Terre one day and Pisa/Florence another. Cristiano the Manager was friendly, helpful and accessible providing assistance and advice. Couldn’t ask for a better apartment in Lucca.

Great Appartment for Exploring Lucca

A beautiful flat

we loved this flat. It is well equipped, wonderfully furnished, convenient, welcoming (Cristiano was very helpful) and spacious. a fabulous place! The only small criticism we had was that the sofas in the living room were not very comfortable. they looked beautiful, in keeping, but a little awkward to sit comfortably. But overall, we were very impressed!

The best of Lucca

Our five days in the charming city of Lucca were especially wonderful because we could come “home” to this beautiful apartment. It’s even nicer than the photos show: light, spacious, clean and well furnished. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious and spotless. We enjoyed the two terraces, one on each floor, with their views of the old tile rooftops or the neighborhood gardens. Cristiano is an exceptionally thoughtful and genial host and answered our questions and concerns in record time. We were four adults in all and having the separate upstairs bedroom and bath gave everyone plenty of privacy. It was perfect for us.

3 Generations Chose This Over a Country Villa

Who We Are and Our Search: Us 2 grandparents (who like our luxury such as business class--now in our 70s, we're not afraid to spend our kids' inheritance!), our son/daughter-in-law, and their 2 and 4 year old boys, searched for a place in/near Lucca to house all of us. The choices were stark: old city walkup v country villa. These choices meant: City-STAIRS and older, less luxuriant places but walk outside and the City is RIGHT there with its shops, cafes, etc. Country-an unfenced pool for the size place we were looking at, beautiful grounds and housing, and always a drive (need 2 cars for 4 adults+2 kids in car seats) or the vagaries of a bus/taxi in to town. Well........ you know what we decided and, to a person, we were SO GLAD we chose this place. It had unanimous 5-star reviews and they are well-deserved. THE ARRIVAL We flew from Frankfurt to Pisa, trained from Pisa to just outside the Lucca city wall (pay 5 Euros to get by tram from Pisa airport to Pisa train station), then hoofed it with our carry-on bags from one end of Lucca to the place -- 20 minutes. Yes, climbing the stairs up to the top floor is difficult with luggage. With large, voluminous luggage, it'd be really hard. Unless you've got a young burly son to do it for you. Which we did not! But, it was 3-5 minutes of discomfort vastly outweighed by the rest of our stay. Our young, burly son arrived with his family by car at 1:30 am. The inner city of Lucca is limited to only a select few cars (shopkeepers? residents??). That is GREAT with young kids and also really nice for us. So we scouted out the parking area just inside Porta Santa Maria (Lucca has a number of Portas whereby you pass through the city wall to get inside). Luckily, at 1:30 am, people were leaving and we found a spot for our son to park. He happened to have the app for the parking spot so eeezy peeezy. Unload sleeping children, tons of luggage, and it's a short 3 minute walk back and forth to the place. This location can also be used to unload/load while doubleparked. At this point, our young, burly son got his day's exercise going up and down those stairs quite a few times. Oh, Cristiano met my wife and I at the top of the stairs (buzzed us in the street door). He lives directly opposite our front door at the top. Very nice guy who uses Google translate much of the time. He made restaurant reservations for us once. THE PLACE It was perfect for our needs. Ran out of room to write mohere.

Perfection!

From start to finish our stay was sublime! This home is perfectly situated. It's quiet, (except for the 8am church bells each morning which we LOVED hearing!) great layout, and Christiano who manages it makes everything for your stay easy. Beds are comfortable, good showers and I was actually grateful for the flights of stairs to help work off all the gelato and pasta we ate during our stay. We love to cook. and the kitchen has everything you need to put on a fabulous meal. Rita the owner is a gem. She has great energy because this place exudes happiness. Really it is heaven on earth! Don't hesitate, you will not be sorry! We will be back

Superb in every way
