Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
We paid for our stay in full months in advance. When we arrived, the lodge was closed. We were told the owner had passed away. While this is a tragic situation, it is not an excuse for leaving paying guests without any notice. No one contacted us, cancelled our reservation, or arranged alternative accommodation. Instead of relaxing after a long drive, we had to spend the evening urgently searching for somewhere else to sleep. Accepting bookings without informing guests that the property is closed is completely unacceptable. Avoid this lodge until it is under proper management and can honor confirmed reservations.
