Staff were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable regarding dinning options in the area. Stress free check in and clean spacious rooms. The grounds were well kept with lush green landscaping surprisingly quiet considering so close to the main road. A truly beautiful spot.

I feel terrible for having to state this as staff was very nice and accommodating, but we were BOMBARDED with bugs inside our room all night. The doors to the room are not sealed and hundreds of bugs (large and small) were crawling through the cracks. They flew around the room, crawled around the walls/ceiling, and fell into the bed. It was literally a nightmare for someone like me and I almost left and found another place to stay at 10pm. My husband killed/cleaned as many as he could and I mummified myself in a sheet until as early in the morning as we could leave. I noticed piles and piles of bugs around the entire lodge that morning, don’t know if I had missed them when we checked in or if they’re just cleaned everyday. Even if there are a large number of bugs in the area, the rooms really need to be sealed properly at the very least.

While the rooms are similar to other motel rooms Malanda Lodge stands out with its extensive, well maintained gardens and its breakfast facilities in an impressive main building which also serves as a restaurant and reception centre. Manager and staff are helpful. The overall impression left by this motel is one of tranquillity and relaxation.

Was there on a Thursday night, however the restaurant wasn't available. The breakfast was available from 8.30am onwards, a bit late for the earlier departures.
