Good room, comfortable - was given a room with a window when didn’t pay for one. However, was on the Main Street which loud throughout the night and the club/bar downstairs was very loud and kept me awake a lot of the night

This hotel needs millions of pounds spent on it. Not quite as bad as its sister, the Adelphi in Liverpool. But it has tatty old fashioned carpets, a room with no window and virtually no plug sockets, with a plug in electric wall radiator or heating, chipped bath, etc. The reception area is a poor conversion, there are endless corridors with badly designed fire doors, and the facade of the building black with grime. Reminds me of Blackpool c.1970. But it is not disgusting. Linen and room were clean, and there was plenty of coffee and tea. Sadly, this is a once luxury hotel, in a good location, which is not up to the standards of a Premier Inn.

The hotel was very central and easy to find. Check in was quick enough. The room was clean and tidy but bed's mattress was a bit rough, could maybe be done with replacing. Other than that, it was decent enough - probably would stay again.

The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom showed signs of tiredness and was in need of renovation a badly repaired bath, replaced wall tiles didn’t match and were also cracked. Breakfast I came down at 09:45 and everything was cleaned up and lock when they had notices out saying breakfast finishes at 09:50 so I think they closed it early so I missed out on breakfast that I paid for.

No as bad as people make out.

We were upgraded to a deluxe room on arrive, big spacious room which was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our nights stay. We stayed for the one night whilst we were in the city to see Lady Gaga, the beds were very comfortable, bathroom clean and shower great. Why this place has a bad reputation I don’t know, I’ve stayed here numerous times over the years and not had a bad stay!

No light over mirror to do make up, reception/bar toilets had locks on the door. Had to show photo Id for all guests at reception.. and gave no reason other than its process. On entry we had to show room key and state room no… again don’t understand why, as it wasn’t checked against anything. A outdated hotel in the heart of the city..
