The Kimpton Clocktower never dissapoints! Our favourite hotel in Manchester. From the lovely smell that wafts to greets you as you walk through the doors into the opulent reception, you know you are in for an indulgent treat when you stay here! Staff are always friendly & helpful, the free room upgrade was very welcome - as were the complimentary drinks. Had a wonderful stay & will continue coming back to the Kimpton (and Refuge Bar) whenever we visit Manchester

Nice but over priced

Hotel is very grand, the rooms need a little maintenance for the price. Taps loose and shower not enough power for my liking, beds hard.

Loved it

Have stayed at an IHG hotel before and loved the way it has its own style and personality. The Kimpton Clocktower did not disappoint. The building is magnificent, the rooms stylist and high quality, and when checking in, visiting the bar and restaurant the service was excellent.

Smoking in the room

Room stank of smoke. Key card for electrics in the room fell off the wall. Complained. Returned back later that night. They had sprayed the room. Had to leave windows open to remove chemical smell. Key card holder still broke after I tried to use it. Double beds are small. Venue is great. Refuge is great. They just need to improve their room maintenance for sure.

Amazing architecture. Quirky. Superbly comfortable bed. Let down by terrible (non-existent) WiFi and draughty room - we were in 400, the bedroom was fine but the living area had a big gap under the door through which a cold draught came. We ended up using cushions as a makeshift draught excluder. Staff were all brilliant - special mentions to Gabriella and Kate on Reception. Teenage daughter loved the ghost stories attached to the building, we had to locate room 261 and the haunted (and stunning) staircase was right next to our room. The Winter Garden was sadly closed so we ended up grabbing drinks from the Refuge bar and taking them up to our room (as the bar was packed) before venturing out for food. We will definitely be back.
