Travelled with family and small children

Our experience in the Double Double bed suite this year was not quite the same as our stay last Christmas.
The room was not available early, so we left our luggage and did not check in until 9 p.m.
Upon pushing the two beds together, we discovered broken glass, dust bunnies, a boarding pass from July, under the beds. There was also pepperoni under the coffee table, and we had to request the room be vacuumed again before we could settle in, which was not ideal after a long day with toddlers.
This raised some serious health and safety concerns, especially with young children walking around barefoot.
We brought these issues to the manager's attention the following day, and we received a refund for half a night stay long with a promise of a deep clean each day for the next four nights.
If it were not for the room's setup with two pushable double beds, we might not consider staying here again, as the Hilton Piccadilly in Manchester is the only other option with a similar setup, though the rooms are smaller.
The newer "renovated bathroom" rooms still seem a bit worn, and the air conditioning remains unreliable. One bed was noticeably higher and firmer than the other, and the television frequently lost its signal.
On a positive note, they are generous with bottled water and you can request as many as you like, whenever you like.
We did not have breakfast this time so cant comment on the food, but from memory its a well stocked full english. Not something you want everyday.
