Located on the southern shore of beautiful Indian Lake, Unit #4 is only steps away from the shared beachfront of Sunset View resort. Originally founded in the late 30's with traditional log cabins for summertime get-a-ways.

Our property amenities include a common beach area, dock (day only), fire pits and grill area. Easily accommodates groups of 6 with its open space kitchen/dining/living area, three bedrooms and full bathroom. You will appreciate the lake views and sunsets even inside from the large windows. Swim, boat, hike, canoe, kayak or just relax by the campfire taking in a sunset or starry night sky. Fish from your boat or shanty for northern pike, walleye, and perch and more. Enjoy easy access public boat launch (1.5miles) and miles of groomed trails for ATVing, snowmobiling and cross-country/snowshoeing trails.

Location, Location, Location!
Our location (center of the UP) is one of our key features because of the variety of day-trip attractions within 1.5 hr drive from us. We are 10 minutes from lake Michigan and 45 minutes from lake Superior! That alone is pretty Great ;)

Main attractions such as, the Big Spring aka Kitch-iti-kipi, Lake Michigan beaches, Lake Superior beaches, Pictured Rocks National park, Grand Island, Fayette State Park, Presque Isle Park/Marquette, Black Rocks, Seney wildlife refuge, Mackinaw Island, Mackinaw City and the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge to name a few.
Also enjoy discovering the many waterfalls and lighthouses scattered throughout the Upper Peninsula.

Speaking of day adventures, we are only four miles north of Downtown Manistique, a charming town that sits on the picturesque shoreline of Lake Michigan and the Manistique river. Wide open sandy beaches, and our two mile boardwalk trail are local and visitor favorites. Eat, shop, game at the local casino or enjoy a round of golf at beautiful Indian Lake golf course.

Great location to explore the Upper Peninsula. Cabin was clean and comfortable for the 4 adults that stayed . We enjoyed the views of Indian Lake that were just steps away from the cabin, Kathy was very helpful with our stay and her restaurant recommendations were spot on. What a gem that Kathy and Larry have and share with their guests- a beautiful lakeside cottage, fully stocked and clean. Furniture is comfortable and homey. Check in was seamless and hosts were incredibly helpful with recommendations in and around the area. Fantastic people! Larry even came back with two more kayaks so we could enjoy a sunset paddle all together. We had full days planned but once we settled in, we decided one day had to be at the property instead- enjoying this little slice of U.P. paradise. Thank you from the Driftless DeGarmo Family!

Perfectly Peaceful

Sunset View is lovely - The Winters’ have done an amazing job making this mini resort a wonderful destination for relaxation & respite. Our cabin was so comfortable, clean, & well appointed. At no point did we say, “I wish they had … here.” They had everything we needed. Our hosts were great communicators, too. Check-in was effortless & the guest book had every bit of info you need to reference. We were a little nervous when we realized there was no A/C, but the lower outside temps & multiple fans kept the cabin cool.The shower/tub area of the bathroom is rather dark, but definitely clean & decent water pressure. Highly recommend Sunset View!

Had two friends visiting us who wanted to see the Upper Peninsula. We made a VRBO reservation here and it surpassed our hopes and expectations. Warm thorough greeting on arrival. Phenomenal property.

5 stars does not do it justice!

The house itself was cozy and clean but what sets this place apart was the level of kindness from the hosts.We went for a cold weekend of ice fishing and from when we first arrived we were treated as if we were neighbors. We will definitely be back!

Ice fishing 2025

Fantastic location. We had 5 guys ice fishing for a week. Plenty of room to relax and stretch out. Very clean and well taken care of. Hosts Kathy and Larry are the best. They go the extra mile to make sure your stay is everything you want. We definitely recommend the property for year round enjoyment. We were able to walk to our ice shack with no problems as access to the lake is right outside your door. Thank you again to Kathy and Larry. See you soon.enjoyment recommend

Very comfortable and cozy. Everything you can imagine is supplied from utensils, blankets, ice cube trays, games and puzzles and a nice view of Indian Lake. If you are looking for a place to stay in the upper peninsula I would suggest to stay here.
