The space
Relax, refresh, and restore yourself while staying here! This cheerful and airy cottage sits on a spacious lot with river access. Enjoy a canoe or kayak ride on the river, or build a cozy fire in the fire pit!
This cottage is just 3 miles from downtown Manistique, and located in a quiet neighborhood. Conveniently close to Indian Lake and popular sites.

Guests have use of house and yard. Canoe and kayak is available for use.

Two Night Stay with Parents

Very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Loved having the river in the back and ability to use the kayaks. Didn't have time for the firepit, but it was nice and well stocked with wood. Note for others about the location. Google and other maps show the address to be on the opposite side of the road from the river, but it is not. Going north you turn right at the driveway, not left as Google maps show. The host was very helpful.

Perfect getaway!

This was a perfect little spot. Close to town and the trails with a big yard and on the river. Amy was very responsive and the house was well stocked, clean and exactly as described. This property is a very good size lot so it felt private and secluded. Unwind by the fire and watch the river or have coffee under the covered porch. It was amazing!

Unfortunately a very bad experience

I don't like to leave bad reviews, but unfortunately my husband and I had a very bad experience with this host/listing that upended our plans during our honeymoon. The host never followed up with us prior to and during check in and was unresponsive until 2 hours after the check in time, at which point vrbo had put us up in a hotel for the night. We suspended our frustration because we assumed something unexpected and terrible had happened, but it turns out the host was on vacation and had forgotten to send out important check in information ahead of time (ie. full address of the property and check in info). Full disclosure, I have health issues that require the use of a full kitchen and makes traveling difficult, and my husband and I were nervous about our honeymoon. We had set up multiple vrbo stays to allow us the flexibility we needed to enjoy our honeymoon. The unexpected hotel stay meant that we had to risk flare ups with my health, tossing my food/supplements, and scrambling to find new accommodations 3 days into our honeymoon. While I'm grateful for vrbo's assistance, the one comped night unfortunately did not make up for the time lost, food and money wasted, and general stress that ensued for the next few days of our honeymoon. I am sure the host is wonderful, and I'm grateful for vrbo's assistance (though I wish it had been more comprehensive) but this was a very special time that you just can't get back. For that reason I can only rate the experience one star.

A perfect stay

The Cozy River Cottage was the perfect spot midway on our journey across the UP! The home was spotless and had everything we needed! We even took out the kayaks on the calm little river. My boys will forever remember their first solo kayaks at this place!

Beautiful Escape on the River!

What a beautiful lil home with huge backyard, many flowers in bloom, firepit and a deck right over the river. Such a great lil escape while traveling to Manistique! Perfect location close to downtown, Kitchitikipi and Rainey Wildlife Viewing Platform. Located in a quiet neighborhood of beautiful homes. The home is cozy, clean and well-kept. Perfect for our family of 3! Fantastic communication with the owner who is incredibly kind and helpful, she helped get us in early when we arrived before check in. Such a beautiful escape in one of our favorite lil towns. Highly recommend!
