Unforgettable stay at Villa Shemsmoon

Everything about villa shemsmoon is just perfect. The property is beautiful, the staff are amazing, everything ran so smoothly and seamlessly. We were a group of 30 celebrating my birthday and it really couldn’t be a better place or set up for a birthday celebration. Thank you Layla, Ali, Rachid and Foofana for everything! I cannot wait to come back. You will not regret your stay at villa shemsmoon.

What a holiday!

Villa to accommodate large groups

We travelled to Morocco with a large group of friends to celebrate our bachelor/bachelorette party. Since we take group trips often, our friends are very familiar with how it is renting out large properties like this villa. All in all we enjoyed our 4-night stay at Shemsmoon, but there are areas for improvement. Communication: We booked this property 7 months in advance. As happens with large trips like this, we had many questions to be answered & items to be addressed before our arrival to ensure all of our guests had a great time. The property owner, Layla, was very responsive at the beginning but as we got closer to the trip it would take a couple of days to get a response and missing answers to some of our questions. Check-in/Arrival: When we arrived at check-in time (which was changed from 3 to 4pm the day before we arrived & guests had already scheduled car transfers to arrive at the villa at 3), we were greeted by the house manager, Mamadou, and his assistant, Bashir, along with some mint tea. They showed us around the property and helped our guests carry luggage to their rooms. The property: This is a beautifully laid out villa with lots of outdoor space. We loved sitting outside each night for dinner. We also really liked that with 35 guests each couple/pair got their own room with an en suite bathroom. Only 1 suite had to share a bathroom between 2 rooms/4 girls. The beds were comfy, nicely decorated & maintained a good temperature. When I asked my guests about their rooms, they all loved how spacious they were but did have a few complaints (which I've listed below)... -only one bath towel was provided per person in each room (the girls preferred more) -no washcloths -no hand soap at the sinks & only one tiny bottle of shower gel/shampoo in the showers -many showers don't have shower curtains or doors so the water sprays everywhere -one room had a terrible odor in it the entire 4 days -one room had 2 sinks, but 1 was missing a faucet and handles -one room had a bulb out that was hanging down from the light -some rooms did not get hot water and others had very weak water pressure -WiFi barely reached the rooms, you'd have to go to the living room to get a good signal Meals: We had breakfast & dinner at the house each day. The food was good. Setup was beautiful! Service great! All in all we enjoyed our stay but definitely wish the property was better maintained. Mamadou and Bashir were wonderful and helpful! Thank you!

Outstanding service and property/villa

A group of 16 of us stayed at the property and I would say that the customer service was outstanding. The two people in charge of looking after us at the Villd (Rachid and Bashir) were unbelievable, kind at all moments, always helpful attending to every request and always greeting with a smile. The food was exceptional, plentiful and tasty. The rooms were amazing, very spacious and clean. I would highly recommend this villa to anybody thinking of staying in Marrakech. This is by far the best accommodation I have stayed in with no complaints whatsoever.

Wonderful stay

We stayed at Shemsmoon to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday - 15 family and friends, so needed somewhere big enough to handle a group of that size. All I can say is that we had an amazing time - from the moment I booked the villa, the owner, Laila, was very communicative, answering questions and giving advice. The pace itself is wonderful - full of character, rustic in a charming way and gave us absolutely everything we needed. And the pool is massive - the weather was very hot when we were there so the spacious pool was well used! And a special mention for the staff - Rachid and Rahim (plus the two wonderful ladies that cooked and kept everything clean) were absolutely first class - nothing was too much for them and any issues were sorted out quickly - they really helped make our stay even better. We did two of the activities too (trip to Marrakech and quad biking) as well as everyone receiving a relaxing massage - all were booked via Laila and all great value. All in all an excellent stay that I would highly recommend to anyone - thanks for everything!

50th Birthday with friends and family

Went to celebrate my 50th with 26 family and friends. The villa is in a remote location about 30mins from the airport. Laila the owner was very helpful and made sure we felt at home and helped us organise all our activities, dj and local troup. The only downside is that the wifi only works in the main building and the plumbing sometimes plays up. Rashid, Amina and her husband were of great help and helped us with everything we requested. There are taxis available at your request. We had about 8 youngsters between the ages of 17 and 24 and they had a fabulous time too. Thank you Laila for an amazing stay

Authentic spacious villa/ ideal for large party

Just returned from a superb 4 day stay in a superb authentic Moroccan Villa! We were a group of 14 ladies trying to plan a traditional Moroccan stay and the villa, Laila and the staff didn’t disappoint! The property is very spacious, and each room is clean. There is lots of room to explore or be alone. The beds are very comfortable and we slept so well! You have to account for the rural aspect of the villa in that the plumbing occasionally plays up but the staff and Laila react quickly to any needs or queries so anything gets resolved quickly. Laila is clearly a respected business woman who has great relationships with local businesses and gets good rates for anything you want to try. The taxi team are amazing and you feel really looked after. Laila arranged everything we wanted to do ! The massages are amazing!!!! We had a Moroccan local band who came to play for our evening in at the villa... the atmosphere was amazing! The food was fab! We partied outside with the fire going, the buffet of plenty of Moroccan food and danced to the band and later, our music whilst taking in the amazing view of the Atlas Mountains! To top it all, Laila and her husband spotted two camels with their owners and brought them up to the villa for us to meet!!! Incredible!!! All in all, a superb authentic, quality, well worth the price, fabulous 4 days! Thank you to Laila and all of her staff!!!

Awesome experience ...lovely place to stay for big group!!

We had a gala time, staying there. We were 18 of us including kids and this villa is big enough to accommodate all of us comfortably. Its actually a sort of self catering villa, however, with 24x7 cook and housekeeping availability, made our stay so very comfortable and relaxing. Our cook (Rachid & Halima's team) treated us with some wonderful Moroccan delicacies and was happy to cook whatever we asked for. Villa owner, Laila, was very helpful lady and considerate. Drive to Jemaa el fna is approx 40mins by taxi, however, quietness and serenity of surroundings made all of us rejuvenated. Overall, fabulous stay for us..!!

Thank you for an incredible week at Shemsmoon

We had a group of 20 of us who took over Laïla’s place for the week. Organising the week could not have been made easier by our lovely hosts. The food was delicious, the space was fantastic and we were very well looked after throughout. Organising taxis into town, quad bike tours and massages could not have been easier - we had the most relaxing week which was all we had wanted and on top of that all it was incredibly affordable. Fantastic layout, excellent service!

We really loved our stay at this villa! The layout of the accommodation means each couple has complete privacy and space but still within the same complex. Essentially each room is a separate villa. The service is fantastic, Rashid and his team were there day and night to provide breakfast, dinner and anything else we requested. Very large swimming pool, terraces, common area. My hamam was the best I’ve had in the on-site spa. Only criticism is the shower in some rooms was very weak and needs some attention. The city centre is 25-30 minutes by car. Activities can be organised too, for example quad biking.

Wonderful experience

We spent four days to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday with family and friends. 18 adults and teenagers. The house is beautiful, the service well organized and the food is great. A great mixture between the freedom of being at a rented house and the service of a hotel. Highly recommended!

Un séjour inoubliable

Merci à l'incroyable équipe de la villa Shemsmoon qui a fait de notre séjour un moment unique et hors du temps pour fêter un anniversaire exceptionnel.Tout était absolument parfait, les services proposés par la villa sont excellents : transferts aéroport, excursions en Quad dans le désert et dans la médina, DJ pour la soirée d'anniversaire. Le personnel de la villa est d'une extrême gentillesse et très professionnel, merci à Rachid, Bachir et tous les autres pour votre accueil et les délicieux repas dont nous nous sommes régalés. La villa est superbe, immense, au milieu du désert mais à 25 minutes de Marrakech, les suites et chambres sont toutes plus belles les unes que les autres, les jardins qui entourent la grande piscine sont splendides. L'espace massage, le billard, le terrain de pétanque sont des vrais plus. Nous avons passé un moment hors du temps, merci à toute l'equipe pour ce séjour inoubliable, nous reviendrons sans hésitation! Merci!

Très belle propriété, le personnel excellent, cependant Wi-Fi très lent dans les chambres.

4 jours très bien. Un méchoui bien organisé par le patron Rachid. Le personnel très à l’écoute. Cependant la prestation massage à revoir, manque de personnel.

AMAZING ! Juste topissime !

Nous avons séjourné à la villa Shemsmoon dans le cadre d'un teambuilding. Nous étions 16 personnes. La villa est encore plus belle que sur les photos. Les chambres sont propres et très spacieuses. Le personnel durant notre séjour a été d'une gentillesse extraordinaire. Quant à Laïla... que dire... juste parfaite ! Agréable, toujours à notre écoute et d'une réactivité incroyable dans nos échanges d'email pour la préparation du séjour. En bref, je recommande ce lieu pour des séjours entre amis, collègues ou famille. Le cadre est vraiment magnifique. En plus de tout cela les services annexes proposés tels que les repas, activités quad, soirée etc sont proposés à des tarifs très abordables et surtout de qualités. Allez y les yeux fermés vous ne pourrez que faire le bonheur de tous ! Merci à tout le personnel et aux propriétaires d'avoir fait de notre week-end un moment mémorable :-)
