We spent two nights at the V. Gran—a Wednesday and Thursday. The best thing about the stay was, they were willing to change our 1king bed reservation to a room with 2 doubles. It was downhill from there.
I asked for a higher floor. I was told that there was only room on the fourth floor. We later noticed that all of the second class citizens were on the fourth floor. Next, we were only allowed one key for the first night, and it did not work in the elevator. Next, the television in our room only showed two channels. I was told the room was not configured for cable. Why would you put us in a room that the TV was not connected? So we had to call the front desk both nights to have someone come and configure it. The room did not have access to any streaming apps, regular channels like Lifetime, nor premium channels like HBO.
My primary problems with the hotel:
1. The front desk service was poor. It was not friendly nor service oriented. They acted as if they were doing us a favor for being there. No smiles no ease to assist us. At breakfast, we weren’t approached for coffee service. We were overlooked and ignored and we had to ask them for assistance.
Anderson— the bartender, and the fellow that came up to configure our TV on the first night were great and they should lead the others in a hospitality class.
2. The room has absolutely no privacy in the bathroom. You can hear EVERYTHING the other person is doing in the shower, toilet and sink! The hall is noisy.
