Clean hotel but house keeping let them down.

Modern and clean hotel with great views, excellent air con and a spacious room. The shower was large and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed some lovely cocktails, though they were quite pricey, so be warned. Unfortunately, housekeeping didn’t make up our room or replace the towels and water. When I called reception, I was told they “might” be able to fit us in before they went home (charming)! I was also told at booking that they would cover parking costs (as there’s no hotel car park), but when I asked, I was told it would be cheaper for me to pay it myself, which didn’t make sense.

First room the air conditioning unit leaking into the bedroom. Second room a lot smaller. Third room upgraded to a family superior. Same as the first but with a coffee machine. The bar on the 14th floor is great if you catch it at the right time is good. Limited table space on a busy night. I can't comment on the evening food but it is posh nosh. No fish, chips and mushy peas here.

Staff were so lovely from arrival and allowed us to check in slightly early which was appreciated. The hotel is modern, clean and the rooms are spacious and very well maintained. I've stayed at this hotel a few times now and it's great value for money. This would easily be a 5star if it had a pool and a spa. The only thing that could be improved is warm pancakes and waffles for breakfast- maybe make in the kitchen yourselves or provide a separate toaster to heat it up. Nonetheless, all other options were good.

On checkin I found the staff to be unfriendly and rude when it appeared that despite me Expedia App clearly showing a valid reservation with he hotel system showing a cancelled reservation the rather rude agent was never apologetic for the error (whether caused by Expedia or the Hotel) I expect better customer service from any accommodation that I book to stay at. Then subsequently charging me twice for the same room with only my attending the front desk to have it rectified, again the same agent basically blaming me by stating you will recall when you checked in there was an issue with your booking. I’ve stayed at this property several times and this is the first time I’ve had such an experience.

Meh, just meh.

Stay was fine. Hotel gym is exceptionally basic, main reception looks awful with all the leaks going on, and the rooms are not being well maintained, flaked paint, cracked fittings. Bar on the top floor is brilliant, world class drinks.
