Hotel & rooms need some updating. Small in-room coffee maker did not work. Hairdryer shut off after 1-2 minutes of use, restarting only after completely cooled off. Overall, this LaQuinta Inn was not a good fit for me. Will not stay here again.

Got the deluxe family room for one night. Space was nice, easy check in and check out. Front desk staff were very friendly. Area was very busy — close to gas stations, Trader Joe's, dining spots and a short drive to Mall of America. Room came with a decent amount of amenities. The property was showing bits of wear and tear — especially in the pool area and rooms but was still a good stay overall. Wi-Fi was quite poor especially in our room (11th floor...) which was frustrating. Classic breakfast options — sausage, eggs, bread, cereal, hot drinks and juices. Would most likely stay here again!

When I arrived at the property, the building looked like a rundown apartment high rise in the hood. The parking lot looked like it hadn’t been maintained in YEARS. There was absolutely nothing inviting about the exterior. The pictures on the website are VERY misleading. It’s clear the management hasn’t made any investment into this property. At the desk, the fire alarm panel was going off, staff didn’t seem to care despite this being a high rise. I wasn’t happy thinking that the alarm was malfunctioning. The lobby was dreary and rundown. I’ve seen nursing homes that look better. The pictures they have of the dining area are absolutely false. The pictures of the rooms were probably taken 10 years ago. Everything is old, dirty and rundown. The rooms appeared clean until I went to plug in my phone and saw the filth by the outlets. WiFi didn’t work, clerk said it is only reliable in the lobby. It’s also an open network so the homeless outside smoking were using it. Speaking of outside, there were dudes outside smoking weed and drinking out of a bag. Breakfast was a joke. Absolutely the worst I’ve ever encountered in my extensive business travels. Don’t make my mistake, find another place, even if it’s more expensive. This wasn’t worth it at all.

Overall, the stay was great. The only issues were a very slow draining bathroom sink (which was quickly repaired) and slightly damp feeling carpets. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was great.

The first room we were put in, the bathroom ceiling and shower ceiling were completely covered in mold. Also the outlets for the lamp and clock on the bedside table didnt work. The lamp on the regular table worked but the outlets on it did not work. We were moved to a different room when we went down to tell them about the mold. Our new room was better but the carpet had sticky spots and the bathroom floor was very sticky as well. The outlets on the lamps did not work in this room either. The block of outlets on the table were the only ones that worked. We were sad that the hot tub wasnt up and running but the pool water was very warm at least. The pool area wasnt very clean either though. The shower had hot water and good water pressure though and the breakfast was very good.

The parking lot in front of the hotel is basically pockmarked and deteriorating, an urgent need of resurfacing. The fire alarm in the lobby was going off night and day through the entire weekend, the front desk said they are working on it, ha! I stayed in two different rooms one on a Thursday night and the other on a Monday night and the other time on Sunday night. The first room was almost impossible to enter. I had to kick the door in order to open it, I also asked for assistance from the front desk because the door was so difficult to open. There was no Kleenex tissue in either room. The dispenser areas was left deliberately empty. The furniture in the second room was badly chipped and damage very evident, also the tub was extremely slow to drain, even though I was taking a shower. The vinyl flooring in all three elevators was badly chipped and very evident to see. Generally, the staff was nice and helpful, but the entire building looks like it’s due for a major renovation. I will not be staying there again as there are so many other choices in the immediate area that are in much better condition and much more inviting no matter what the price is. This was not really worth it.

Big chips out of the furniture in the room, tub took forever to drain, first room I had you had to force kick the door to enter. Fire Laurent off for days in the lobby, front desk said they are working on I! Elevator vinyl flooring was heavily chipped, in all 3 elevators. Price was good but the rooms are pretty tired looking. Parking lot in front of the building is very beat up. In desperate need of resurfacing. I’m not planning to book that hotel again, especially since so many others with in a block or two are much newer and better maintained.
