Welcome to Blue Chair Bay, a lakefront family cabin on Minong Flowage designed for unforgettable Northwoods winter getaways. Located on a private, wooded bay with 234 feet of lake frontage, this spacious retreat offers snowmobile trail access, ice fishing, cross country skiing and cozy comfort for families and groups.

This 4-bedroom cabin with loft (plus a fun kids’ hideout) features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, large lake-view windows, and a furnace-grade LP fireplace—perfect for relaxing after a day on the trails. With 2 full bathrooms, fresh linens, and a fully stocked kitchen, everything is ready for a stress-free winter stay.

Families love the layout, space to spread out, and winter-friendly amenities including WiFi, Smart TVs, board games, and indoor entertainment for snowy days. Outdoor highlights include a lakefront fire pit with firewood provided, scenic deck seating, and peaceful winter lake views.

Amazing property! Our family (10 of us total) spent a week here this August. By far the highlight of our summer. It was everything we wanted and more. First, the hosts Erin and John were great. Friendly, responsive, professional. The property was perfect. Location was the crown jewel. Secluded, private little sandy bay with perfect views. The house was super nice - efficient space that felt much bigger than the listed square footage. Decor created a chic cabin vibe with many touches of old and new that was so inviting. The house had everything we needed and more - so many board games and toy inside and water toys galore outside. Rent the pontoon boat! Best way to explore all the flowage has to offer. The hosts had it on the dock when we arrived and picked up after we left. Boat was in great shape and worked perfectly. Couldn’t have been easier. Everything was awesome, we hope we can get back to stay again soon.

Peaceful and relaxing!

I feel so relaxed when I am here! The house is wonderful, cozy but also spacious. Plenty of spots to hang out and sleep. Beach and dock at great places to be. One of our favorite places.

Cozy cottage in the north woods

The host Erin was very responsive and even allowed us to change our dates last minute. we were also able to bring our dog. The property itself is really neat - tons of trees, quiet (except for the sounds of nature), and a great little beach that is tucked into a cove. If you want to grill however, you’ll need to bring your own propane. We found that a little odd, but they did have firewood included, which was a plus. If we ever head back to the Minong flowage, we would strongly consider staying here again.Thanks for sharing your Cottage with us!

Great for families!

Our group had two families with five children ages 18 months to 7 years. We were delighted by the amenities for kids (like trundle beds for kids to sleep near parents, a high chair, toys, etc). We also loved that there were two living spaces so that everyone could spread out. We hope to come back again!

Absolutely Fabulous!

We had an amazing time at Blue Chair Bay! This was our first time booking a trip at Blue Chair Bay with our family. We have been coming to the Minong Flowage for the last 14 years but never stayed here. We highly recommend! The property was as described and more! Erin had a flair for decorating and everything was so homey! Also, the beds are comfortable. We have been so many places with horrible beds. Erin was quick to answer our questions. We had the best time just being with family and laughing. We enjoyed ourselves so much we booked a mini stay in September and our family vacation again next year. We will continue to book with Erin….at least til we can retire and move on the Flowage.😊

Minong Cabin Stay

This space was everything promised! We had a grand time among the peak fall foliage, enjoying the fire pit and all the great outdoor space. Took the kayaks out to Sand Island and kids had a blast exploring. We would definitely look to return for another stay!

Another Fun and Relaxing Stay

This was my and my pups’ 4th annual and my friend’s 3rd annual stay at Blue Chair Bay. There is a reason why it’s an annual trip. Wonderful home, amazing property, and fun amenities. While you can “stay connected” here if needed, it is really easy to disconnect, relax and recharge. Thank you, again, for sharing your slice of heaven!

Fun Family Retreat

This was our first time staying at the Blue Chair Bay and it won’t be our last. Loved the property, shore line, dock, and every necessity you need available to you. Tons of games for our kiddos (3 and 7 YO). We rented a pontoon for the week from John who was recommended by the owners and that worked out wonderfully. We also rented a UTV for a day from Petits in Minong to hit the trails. Beds were comfortable and enough room to spread out for some quiet time to read or watch your own movie. Only bummer was we enjoy taking walks with our pups in the morning and the road out front can be fairly busy with fast traffic. But once we turned off on a side road all was good. hosts were responsive and kind. Definitely recommend! 5 Stars!

3 Generation Family

The house was a perfect fit for our 3 generation family with 6 adults and 3 kids. The central spaces where big enough for all of us to eat and do things together and the 4 bedrooms were private and comfortable. The best part of our stay was the large sandy beach with the gradual lake bottom. We all had a great time. Have already book our stay for next year.
