Have you been searching for a lake retreat to bring your family to? Look no further! We at Edgewater Escape have it for you. Bring your family of six and come enjoy the views! Edgewater Escape is located one mile from Bridgewater Plaza You can't get any better than this for location on the lake. This home features a great room and kitchen for entertaining your crowd. The upper deck seats 8 with a big gas grill to prepare all of your favorites too. Lower deck seats 12 and even has a Tiki bar for you and your guests to enjoy a refreshing beverage. The basement is ready to entertain the young and old, including a big sectional sofa with a TV for the kids to crash and watch a movie. The pool table is ready for games to begin! The arcade game has something fun to play for everyone. Foosball table and a card table are awaiting you too! Make your way down to the dock to find a fire pit area with Adirondack chairs . Look to the right and you will see six kayaks on a rack ready for a paddle around the lake. The dock is ready for your boat and for the kids to jump in and enjoy a swim in our quiet cove.
All that you need to bring to this lake house is your beach towels and groceries. We provide fresh white linens, bath towels, and washcloths for your stay.

A few broken items and excessive cleaning but great!

Grill did not heat up properly and took forever to cook meat. Arcade game didn’t work so kids were disappointed. Strict rules about no eating on couches, cleaning grill and extensive cleaning before we left. Steep stairs inside and very steep back yard. Loved the kayaks and great location on the water. House comes with lots of life vests.

Smith Family on SML

We had a wonderful time gathered for new experiences on SML. The water and renting a pontoon boat twice were the highlights! Fun to have the Olympics @ the same time. Only complaints from the teens in the bunk room: noisy plastic covers on mattresses, could hear each other turning over during the night! Please add an address out front by the road!

Family Reunion

This house was AMAZING for our family reunion. There was more than enough room, towels and amenities to accommodate the 13 people we had from 1 year old to 73! There were kayaks, life jackets, a pool table, foosball table, arcade game and the cove is PERFECT for a quiet float or a lively race around the water. The house is well stocked with all essentials in the kitchen and plenty of towels and toilet paper. The views of the lake were stunning and we often ate out on the top deck and watched the Herons glide over the water. The ice cream boat even makes daily visits to the cove much like an ice cream truck in a neighborhood. It was a highlight of the trip for the children. The only potential difficulty was the steep hill for one person in our party, but as long as someone was there to study them it was very manageable. Don’t think twice BOOK THIS LOCATION!

“Framily” summer getaway

We had a wonderful time with our friends who are like family and their children. All 6 kids enjoyed the bunk room, pool table and lower level of the home. We kayaked, rented a pontoon and enjoyed cocktails at the tiki bar. The location of this home was great and we ate out twice that week at Vinny’s restaurant across the street. Giving everything 5 starts but the description of the home. It failed to mention there was no longer a jacuzzi on the property. This was a big bummer for the adults who had been looking forward to it but we managed to drown our sorrows with cold beers as we floated down by the dock. The slope to the fire pit and dock was a bit steep so I wouldn’t bring elderly or young children here. Overall, I would recommend this property to others. Enjoy!

Updated home on the lake

The description and pictures DO NOT do this house justice. It is immaculate and bright. Everything has been updated recently. The kitchen is large and completely stocked. The teens had a great time in the downstairs with all of the games. And the dock is beautiful! We will return!

Great lake location and nice house

The house overall was great. It’s at the end of a cove which is great for swimming and kayaking. It had plenty of space for all of us. The driveway is steep and seems like it would be hard to fit more than the three vehicles we had. Driveway was hard to find and is on a busy road (you can hear road noise down at the lake dock). We would have liked a list of what we needed to bring (or what was not provided at the house) as we did not know we needed to bring trash bags and toilet paper. The coffee maker was not working correctly, but we were able to get the back-up one they had there to work well enough for the week. Communication prior to check in could have been better. While there, owner responded quickly. Overall, we enjoyed the lake location, the house, the kayaks, and the fun stuff for the kids downstairs.

Nice house. Quiet cove, great for swimming. No walk way to dock and the grade is a bit steep, so not great for elderly access.

Lake Vacation 2022

Had a great vacation!! The house was super clean!! Robert contacted me within 10 mins the one time I had a question. Dock was great, had no problems all week. I would definitely rent again if we come back to Smith Mountain Lake

Wonderful & relaxing trip

We loved the convenience of this property. It was close to several grocery stores and restaurants. You can walk to two restaurants across the street. The house was on a quiet, no wake zone cove, which was lovely, and was well stocked with cooking equipment, grill, etc. and entertainment including pool table, foosball and nostalgic video games. They also provide card and board games. Loved also having the kayaks available. We also ended up renting a pontoon from the nearby Bridgewater Marina.

The Hosts were great. Attention to details at the property were outstanding. Located in a quiet cove, with great access to the open water. Great amenities at the house, kayaks, games, pools clean inviting house perfect for a family stay. Recommend for the location and the value.
