I love Hotels.com. Great app, to shop for & reserve hotel stays. Short version: We have two dogs, so we review and compare pet fees (see screenshot). It does not say “non-refundable deposit” or “pet cleaning fee”. With 2 pet ‘fees’, I expected to pay $20, & perhaps see an authorized deposit of $50. They charged $106.66. I believe they avoid honest disclosure of the fees this way. I attempted to resolve through the hotel, but couldn’t reach them. I also called Choice Hotels Customer Service. They also could not reach the hotel, and would not give me more information on the franchise owner. Choice customer service did advise that the amount charged, was due to my being charged a deposit for each dog. I would have selected another hotel if it had been honestly disclosed that they would charge $100.00 in pet fees, instead of $10 per pet.
