A gem in Montesquieu des Alberes
The villa is comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. We made very good use of the lovely swimming pool and the relaxing pool furniture.
Montesquieu is a delightful old hilltop village with lots of character. There are many really interesting places to visit in the surrounding area and the coast is only a short drive away.

Splendid stay
We had a great time. The house is very spacious, the kitchen has everything you need.
Very big garden around, full with birds and scented flowers.
Beautiful terraces with place for everybody.
Especially the swallows that come and drink in the swimmingpool are lovely.
And the swimmingpool is fantastic, beautiful and very big!
We loved our stay here very much and are sorry to go,

Breathtaking and peaceful
Myself and four others booked this villa and were extremely pleased with the results. The accommodation is spacious, and views of the surrounding Pyrenees mountains stunning. Nearby, there are a number of diversions including restaurants, vineyards and historical landmarks. Would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

A wonderfully located and spacious villa with a lovely pool and views to die for.
This is our third visit to the villa which tells you all you need to know! Whilst there, we enjoyed trips to the artistic town of Céret, the beautiful coastal resort of Collioure and some of the nearer beautiful villages- all within easy reach by car and less than 30 minutes away.
With three doubles, one single and a twin, there is more than enough room for two families or a large group. Two of the doubles have French doors, making them more more accessible and giving them a private feel; one of these has a little seating area looking to the side of the mountains.
There is a very large, modern and recently installed walk-in shower and a separate WC. There is also a second more traditional bathroom with bath, shower and WC as well.
The lounge area is large and has a TV with DVD player and a gadget to access British TV, but the weather is so good in Summer we rarely used the area. There’s also a small bar area off it, stocked with games and magazines. More books can be found in the middle double bedroom. Usefully, the property has WiFi!
The kitchen that links the sitting room area (via an archway) is very modern, with a clean, stainless steel “industrial” feel. The hob has five rings and the cupboards are extremely well equipped. French windows open to the terrace that looks over the pool and beyond.
The view from the very large terrace area is what really make this property special. It takes in mountains, cities, villages and even the coast to the right. If you go through your stay without either a spectacular sunset or dramatic night-time storm, you’ll be incredibly unlucky!
The pool is very large for this type of villa. It’s cleaned twice a week and is a great asset to the property.
The owner of the villa is highly attentive. He almost always responds to quieries within 24 hours, and is eager to make guests’ stays as enjoyable as possible.
All in all, an outstanding property and extremely good value for money.

Beautiful villa with a stunning view and a fantastic pool.
We really love it here. We have just come back from our 3rd stay. Always well equipped and well maintained with owners that are very obliging and pay attention to all our needs. We wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend to others. Try it. You will love the area and the villa.

Fabulous place to stay, large villa, superb pool in a picturesque are
We absolutely loved our stay here. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. The villa is spacious and comfortable, with a separate self contained apartment. We had more than enough room for 7 of us. The pool (according to the pool man) is the largest and deepest in the area. It was cleaned twice during the week whilst we were there and is spotless. The villa is situated in a beautiful little village and it has fantastic views including the Pyrenees. It has plenty of room, with a lovely spacious kitchen and living area. The 2 showers and separate toilet, meant there was no queuing for the showers in the morning. It is within a 20 minute drive to wonderful beaches and beautiful little towns. Being only 40 minutes from the Spanish border, it's easy to nip across and go there for the day. It's cheaper there for food, petrol, alcohol etc.. and is a great way to spend a day. The owners Howard and Elizabeth, could not have been of more help to us. They sent us very detailed emails of all the things to do in the area, the best beaches, places to eat, where the supermarkets were and the days of the local markets.
Howard answered my queries promptly and ensured we had the perfect stay.
I would highly recommend it to anyone and advise you to book today, it's totally worth it .

Montesquieu des Albères: a place to return to
A beautiful, relaxing and delightful week ( not long enough!) for our two generation adult families. The villa is easy to find and has a comfortable and welcoming appearance both outside and inside. There is lots of greenery and splendid large swimming pool situated on a lower level. There are two neighbouring dwellings but they have no impact on ' villa life.'
There is a large modern kitchen diner with high table, Excellent not only for breakfast but the other meals too.
Of course, one can also eat inside at a dining table or outside too!
Toilet facilities, showers, bath etc. are very good.
Staying at the viila all day or getting out sightseeing, seaside, nature etc. are all highly enjoyable.
All in all, the villa, its facilities and the region make an excellent location for a holiday or sojourn in this delightful Mediterranean corner between France and Spain.
We're looking forward to our three generation holiday there next year!

Fantastic location with a view to die for
From Mt. Canigou to the left and to the distant view of the Med to the right, the panoramic view from the balcony overlooking the pool in this picture, is stunning.
Our party of three adult males, Grandad(me) son-in-law and a grandson had a most satisfying stay returning every evening from visiting the many, varied easily reachable 'must see' sites such as the astonishing castle of Queribus and the beautiful medieval walled town of Villefranche de Conflent just to sit out on the balcony and nibble on Tapas style finger food and watch the end of the day enfold over the wonderful view assisted, of course, by copious amounts of the excellent wines of the local Cotes de Rouissillion (they keep the best to themselves here)
The lovely coast road to Spain along the Cote Vermeille is an easy drive. Banyuls sur Mer is about 35minutes. Argeles, Collioure and Port Vendres even less. Spain just a little further. The A.9 motorway is about 20 minutes.
The property is spacious and has an excellent and well equipped kitchen, the showers are good. To be ultra critical parts of the property are a little bit 'tired' but for the price asked for this property it is exceptionally good value compared with similar properties.
In any case, with weather like they have here and a pool like this together with the stunning view, you will not be spending much time indoors!
The pool is all you would want. Many pools offered in this area are simply large baths, great for children but not so satisfying for those who like a swim.
Steps at the shallow end allow easy access for children and a deep end, well above standing height, gives depth for those who like to dive in.
It is serviced twice a week by the excellent Jezz, who will give you good local info.
In short, for someone who has, over the last 30years, come to love this beautiful part of France, I would rate this property as a four star property but five stars plus for value for money and many more stars just for the view
