Brought my dog along on our trip and was excited there was a fenced yard for her but had to clean up about 10 piles of other dogs’ poop so my dog could walk in the grass without stepping on any of it. I had read this in another review but hoped the host had corrected the issue. There is a cherry tree in the back yard along with dozens of smashed cherries all over the ground which invited hundreds of fruit flies. Inside the house, the window over the sink was full of fruit flies and they were even bothersome in the bedrooms. Every windowsill had dead bugs on it. We also found a key fob (Nissan) underneath one of the beds in case anyone lost their’s. The house itself is charming on the outside but not nearly clean enough inside. There is a barbecue in the back but couldn’t use it because the grill was dirty.

Absolutely wonderful stay in Montrose. The cabin was fully equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable visit. The electric fireplace was such a pleasant feature. The rooms were clean, and spacious. Only 20 minutes to Black Canyon National Park. The town had great shops and we enjoyed a beer and meal at Pomona Brewery. We would absolutely stay here again. Thanks, Justin for letting us stay.

Overall this place is okay. It appears as shown in the VRBO listing with the exception of lot of dead bushes and empty flower pots in the front and back of property. The cleanliness was lacking. The baseboard heating units were covered in dust and dog hair. The sofa smelled of dog. Lots of dog poop in backyard. Also dead bugs around baseboards in living area. There is not an outlet in the bathroom to plug in a blow dryer or iron. Only other mirror in the unit is in the hallway. The hairdryer doesn’t work well either. There is not anyplace to set suitcases. My bad for booking a pet friendly place.

Montrose getaway

Place was very clean and nice except for mildew smell. Used air conditioner to help dry things out but smell never went away. Got better after day 2 but I think it was we just got used to it. Bedrooms weren't so bad just the rest of the house. Only other complaint was in master bedroom bed sunk in the middle. Had to sleep in the other bed which was much better. Last there were quite a few flying bugs of some sort that would enter the house. We get them back home at certain times of the year. Also someone lives in the garage next to the house that I didn't know about when I rented.

Cute small home

The house was just as described with two bedrooms, kitchen and living area. It was comfortable. There is a small back yard that we enjoyed. It backs up to an office but has a tall wooden fence so you would never know. We were able to walk to a nearby brewery. It is a good location to visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP
