This is a beautiful hotel and the staff is gracious and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the bed is plush with lovely linens and the breakfast is elegant with great variety. There is even a fabulous restaurant on site, the Vinothek. This hotel is also conveniently situated near the train station and within walking distance of many sights. My only complaint—and it is a big one for a Munich summer—is that not all of the rooms have air conditioning. My room was boiling and opening the windows above the tram rails sounded like a roller coaster. The gracious staff brought me a fan but sleeping was difficult. A hotel this elegant should invest in air conditioning, since Europe, like the rest of the world sadly, is getting hotter.

The staff at this hotel are exceptionally helpful and attentive. We used the laundry service and it was quick and thorough. The breakfasts here were excellent as well. We had an adjoining room with our college aged sons and everything was clean and well appointed. Close to many transit options and walkable as well. We would definitely stay here again!

We actually ended up staying at this property more than once as we traveled around Europe and returned here before flying home. Their hospitality skills could not be beat, loved the location, convenient grocery store next door and just steps away from the underground/metro/Sbahn and trains. The funniest thing was waiting at the airport, we met lots of fellow travelers who had been in Munich for different reasons, multiple river cruise lines or roaming like we were, and several of us were talking about loving our hotel and turns out we had all been at this same Excelsior- those who hadn't were taking note because they wanted to keep it in mind for when they did their next trip in Munich, just turned out to be a happy coincidence. Rooms are spacious and having a mini frig was really nice.

We got a very spacious room. Very close to the train and to the old town. Staff was very accomodating. The bathtub was high and not very convenient to get in and out. I would stay in this hotel again.

We are on a quiet street but just adjacent to the train station, metro, and S-bahn. So handy to get Anywhere, there are some shops down in the underground acess to all the transportation, we can't hear any noise even being this close and since we are not on a full out street, its very peaceful. Our driver was able to let us out just steps from the door and the staff was Incredible. We were able to check in 2 hours early, we had expected to just store our luggage so this was so appreciated. We are here 3 nights and then doing an overnight to Salzburg before returning for another night before catching our flight home and they will let us leave the bulk of our luggage here so that we only have to take our overnight case on the train with us- that is kindness above and beyond. We are just a few minutes walk to the Karlsplatz which has the lovely pedestrian walkway to the Cathedral and Marienplatz. The rooms are truly spacious and elegant. Perfect choice for our stay in Munich.

The location is bravo - the tube station exit and supermarket are both within 2 min walk. The room is extremely comfortable overall and we like it very much. The toiletries are excellent and the coffee capsule is nice. The only thing to improve is it would be good to have a kettle.

Very comfortable hotel in convenient location close to main Munich railway station and only about 10 minutes walk to the Old Town. Very friendly and helpful staff - everyone we engaged with during our stay spoke excellent English. Vinothek restaurant/wine bar linked to the hotel (connecting door from hotel lobby) serves great food and wine. One thing to note is that currently (May 2025) there is major construction work happening at the railway station and across the street from the hotel, but despite this the hotel is really quiet inside. Highly recommended.

It is conveniently close to the main train station, but there is not that many food options close by. You have to walk a bit, which is ok. Munich is walkable plus there are trams and the subway close by. The only thing I wish the property can improve on are the plugs to charge your stuff. They were not close to the nightstands or they were close to the floor. Room was big with a large washroom. Another thing they could have is a luggage rack. I had to open my luggage on the ground.
