The Lucky Duck in South Nags Head has new furniture and fresh paint throughout for the 2023 season! Only feet from the beach, this light-filled, cheerful beach cottage is decorated in peaceful pastels and comfortable furniture. You can relax on its brand-new upper or lower decks or in the hot tub and enjoy the sunrise and sunset reflecting over the ocean.
This fully-equipped and well-maintained family home all on one floor is located on a dead-end street in a quiet South Nags Head neighborhood where the only sounds you'll hear are the ocean and birdsong. Yet the Outer Banks pier is a short stroll away, and shops, restaurants, the new Jennette's pier, and the Outlet Mall are only a 5-minute drive. Wireless Internet, central air, color TV w/DVD in living room and bedrooms, stereo, hot/cold outside shower, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker.
**Please note that the VRBO service fee will be instantly charged upon booking by VRBO but all rents, host fees, and taxes will be processed by Cola Vaughan Realty within 24 hours of booking and Cola Vaughan Realty will handle all of the details of your stay**

It was a beautiful week. Very close to the beach, hot tub was clean but could have use a service after 3-4 days - needed a little cleaning because of sand. Nothing major was still a great week and would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Birthday vacation at The Lucky Duck

Great week at the beach! We had a little issue when checking in but the staff was easy to reach and took care of the problem right away. The house was perfect. Would definitely stay at The Lucky Duck again.

Great location and close to the beach. Top deck was great with a nice view. Overall good house for our family. Areas of opportunity - the top bunk bed was very unstable, the house could really use a good clean (lots of hair on the floor, sand, dishes still in the dishwasher, etc), needs an electronic keypad instead of key lock. Finally, communication with the office was very poor when the internet went out - please remember that no one wants to spend their vacation troubleshooting someone else's internet issues.

The Lucky Duck is the place to stay in the OBX!!

My wife, our dog Clover and I stayed at the Lucky Duck for a week. What an amazing property in great condition, with a perfect location and amazing ocean views. The whole house was clean and the hut tub on cool evenings after a long day walking around was very welcome. The kitchen was well equipped, the furniture was comfortable, the A/C worked great and the beds were comfortable. The Lucky Duck was a great launching point for all things OBX. We went to the Wright brothers memorial, Jockey ridge park, drove the beach of Corolla, played golf, saw all the lighthouses, went to the aquarium, the Elizabethan gardens, festival park, drove up and down the OBX and so much more. What an awesome place. Can’t wait to return someday!

Heaven on the Beach

This house is outstanding. It has been recently remodeled and touched up. The owner has gone of if his or her way to make sure guests are comfortable. Nice living furniture, comfortable beds, plenty of deck space, beautiful kitchen countertops, and a well stocked kitchen. We wanted for nothing. It was all there. The “house booklet” was very thorough, from how to use the TVs to checkout procedures. The location couldn’t have been better. Second house from the beach with great views. This is a house that we would definitely rent again.

Great little house almost on the beach!

We enjoyed this property very much! Steps to the beach. House was very clean and well appointed. Only one carpet in the living room so my allergies were not irritated and was a nice bonus. We also brought our small dog with us and there is yard in the back for pets. The hot tub is generous and was very clean. Overall wonderful experience@
