My family and I have been staying at the British Colonial Hotel for decades. It has been beautifully renovated and is clean and new. Housekeeping staff gets an A+ for ninja-like reliable, invisible service! The staff were absolutely grade A lovely, as always! My few items for improvement were: A) The mobile room service app never worked. I ordered things and only received them 90 minutes later after several follow-up phone calls. Seating (almost everywhere) is wayyy too low if you’re over 50 or have knee issues (including the room toilet). Some of the room amenities were counter-intuitive like the toilet paper roll behind ur back, the absence of a full-length mirror & the non-shower curtain shower (maybe ok for newlyweds but not for my daughter and I! I did mention disappointments to Manager, Shakara, and she was appreciative of the feedback, absolutely lovely with us and found an agreeable way to make it up to us! Shout outs to Kimberly at Woods & Rodger’s, Nick on the beach and omg the desk agent who I first expressed my concerns to…can’t remember her name but all so lovely! I travel to swim and swim I did, with sea turtles, a small sting ray, barracudas, doctor fish, sergent majors, trumpet fish, tangs, even saw a fire worm right there at the British Colonial Beach! Not to worry though, they don’t bother you unless you obnoxiously bother them! Lastly, a relatively new eatery has been erected on tge pier just off the beach, beside Senor Frogs! Best shrimp tacos EVER!
