Excellent staff/service, but very poor hotel

Service was outstanding. The staff is helpful & incredibly kind. Julpha & Marlon were especially great given some of the issues we had. It is evident that people smoke EVERYWHERE because the sticky smell of stale smoke lingers in the halls, elevator, and rooms. The hotel does its best to mask the scent, but it’s there. Also, I phoned ahead and was told that the hotel would give us a day pass to the Edge gym down the road since they didn’t have a gym. When I arrived I found out that was not the case. For me, this is a deal breaker when I travel so I was disappointed. I bought my own day passes to the gym anyway, but the hotel shouldn’t advertise this service if they don’t have it. The hotel otherwise is very clean, it’s obvious the staff takes pride in cleanliness. But there isn’t much that can be done with extremely outdated/old fixtures, linens, and furniture. The bed was a cot style mattress and uncomfortable. I will never stay here again. If it wasn’t for the wonderful service from Julpha, Marlon, and the staff I would have given 1 star across the board.

Due to my not eating carbohydrates with no protein, we ate out. Needed eggs for breakfast. The floor of our room was sticky near the bed. The floor was sticky by the bathroom sink. The floor was sticky by the coach.

Room was very clean, loved the wood floors throughout. The only issue was the hallway smelled like smoke. Someone on our floor was smoking in their room.

The breakfast was limited to coffee and a few pre wrapped muffins. The vending machine took my money and did not dispense the item. The description said use of local gym. The only local gym charged me $15 a day to use the facility. When I asked the staff they were only aware of that gym that charged. Also noticed that people were living there long term. The rear of the facility (picnic area) looked very lived in.

We checked in, went into the room and went back down to let the staff we would not be staying! The overwhelming smell of marijuana and the loud barking dogs was unacceptable. The room’s floor was so slimey we were sliding across it. Horrible experience!
