Not great but not terrible either. It's the kind of place you want to stay at when you want something cost effective at the expense of some of the amenities of most other hotels. The room was clean, although the carpet was sus (I recommend bringing house shoes), and the lobby smelled like cat food, but I bet there was no cat. I'm willing to bet that there's folks there who rent monthly, it looks like renovated apartment units. That being said, the proce was right, and I was close to everything I came back to the city for. If you want luxury, this isnt it. If you want a bed, Roku TV and a door that locks, you'll definitely find that here.

Decent for the price considering other NYC options. Nice fresh towels and comfy bed and AC. Could do with a few touch ups generally and providing enough toilet roll. An iron would’ve been good.

The hotel was not clean. Old everything. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Towels with holes and dirty. Staff unfriendly. Elevator broken. No hot water for the shower for two days. The entry is located next door to a storage facility and you have to dodge machinery, unloading and loading merchandise. It was not worth the money.

The carpet had gum. Otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised. Canal loft should strike a parking lot deal with a nearby garage. I think Expedia should quote based upon overnight stays rather than days. The hotel is worthwhile to stay

First bedroom TV was broken and sheets were dirty. Got moved into new bedroom by 2nd of stay where the headboard was busted up and the closet mirror was shattered.

Pictures are deceiving my room has stains everywhere. My headboard is crumbling. The elevator slow there’s no air circulation. This is actually the worst hotel I ever been in
I didn’t ask for this room, look at the headboard only light is the lamp and entrance

To noisy to sleep

Clean room but bed was not made on the second night, toilet paper was missing and soap spender empty. But worst is thet you cant sleep as you only have the choice of a noisy a/c or a hot room

The hotel is near public transportation routes and the area is safe. It's also a few minutes walk away from several different restaurants, but there are only a few places nearby to get coffee and breakfast. There is a permanent stench in the air that permeates your clothes from the garbage on the streets around the hotel. The lady who works the front desk during the day always had headphones in and took forever to notice that we were standing in front of her with a question. She never smiled and gave quick, one-word answers to our questions and acted annoyed that we had interrupted her watching whatever she was watching on her phone.

Room was pretty clean. Beds were comfortable. AC was great. Staff was good. They didn’t have kettle in room to heat water. Only basic amenities. We were over all happy with the stay. This place is in China Town and the neighbourhood was bad. It stinked.
