Highly recommend!

Great hotel in a super location. All the staff were really friendly and happy to help with any queries. Its close to lots of subway stations which made getting round NY really easy. The rooftop bar and cocktail room within the hotel premises were an added bonus too! Highly recommend when staying in NY

Comfortable stay

We upgraded our room from queen to king as it was very small for 2 people. King room was much more spacious i highly recommend this room if you are travelling as a couple. Quiet at night and beds very comfortable. Staff pleasant and location is great. I would stay here again.

I stayed here twice but second time wasn’t as good as the first time the plugs in the wall didn’t work, the mini light on the right side of the bed wasn’t working, the people in the other rooms kept slamming their doors all night, and when I was going out I get a call saying I was too loud like huh? I wasn’t even doing anything but the workers were super nice and the hotel is so cute

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it’s incredible. Perfect walking distance to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and the heart of the Theater District. The staff were friendly, and the manager even gifted our room a couple bottles of Prosecco to celebrate our wedding! Highly recommend this hotel when you’re visiting NYC.

Really?!? Cool place at a good price in midtown??

Euro-style small but excellent lodging at a great price in midtown Manhattan. Wasn’t sure that was possible, Civilian proved it was.

I think they gave me an upgraded room. I booked 8 nights in a cozy queen that’s the smallest. However looking at the fire escape map I could see it was one of the larger rooms on the floor. Very kind of them.. I could really sleep well here and it was relatively quiet with so few rooms on each floor. Eight rooms on my floor four. The staff were nearly all friendly, I did encounter a bouncer for the roof top bar that was rude to me. Which brings me to the only major issue with the hotel is the elevators. There are three, two very small and one slightly larger you can be waiting a long time and often when one came it was already full. The Saturday night they had one of these, the largest, reserved for taking people to the roof top bar. It made it a long long wait to get back up to my room. Literally they had an employee at a roped off elevator that wasn’t being used making sure only outside rooftop guests would not have to wait. The guy muttered at me about having to wait, I hadn’t said anything rude to him about the e situation but maybe my face was telling a story. I would really recommend this hotel as a great place to stay, all the rest of the staff were lovely. By the way I tried the Buffett breakfast one day and it wasn’t anything special for the money.

The hotel was very cute and location was great. However, the early morning breakfast was extremely limited and still $30.00 per person. Don’t make that mistake!!

Cozy means tight, yet cozy

Overall, our stay was great. Fantastic, walkable location. Very pretty hotel. We enjoyed the cocktail lounge and the restaurant on the ground floor. Both were nicely decorated. The service in the lounge was awesome as were the drinks. I do regret not looking more closely at the listing. The Cozy Queen room was tight for 2 people even a couple. There was very little room to place our belongings. We had to move out of each other’s way to move around in the room. No desk or additional chair. There was a bench seat but it was affixed to the wall. I would stay here again, but maybe get a larger room. This room would work for a solo traveler.
