I enjoyed my stay at Civilian, but the bathroom shower was too small. The water ran out the shower everyday. It felt like work on my vacation because I was constantly wiping up water.

This may be one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed in and I have traveled a lot! If you are looking for roominess this is not your hotel. However, the room itself was stunning from the velvet head and sideboards to the remote controlled black out shades to the stunning tile and brass features in the bathroom - the whole atmosphere is top notch. The rooftop bar has an incredible view and great vibe. The location is fantastic being right around the corner from Times Square and many Broadway shows. This place is truly a hidden gem.

Overall hotel was great, staff was friendly, walkable to many spots and cleanest hotel I’ve ever been in. Unfortunately we didn’t research and were very excited for the rooftop views but it’s only accessible during certain days and the bathroom isn’t very private so travel with someone you’re close to!

Cute hotel, we had a nice view of the water. Beds are comfy with plenty of pillows. Clean & nice, staff is friendly & attentive. We got a drink at the roof top bar. Drinks are good, great staff & beautiful view. Nothing bad to say, I would definitely stay here again…

Staff was amazing and friendly. Loved everything but the no fridge in the room is the BIGGEST setback especially in the 21st century. Rooms are small but can definitely accommodate a mini fridge. Also the shower is a mold hazard waiting to happen; there is a half glass shower and water just soaks the floors.
